So for our Two RPGs at Once series we're currently playing through Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG.

Obviously, Super Mario RPG is going to finish first. And I had an idea that I think could be cool, but need some feedback on how to make this work.

Once Super Mario RPG ends, we would replace that with another RPG. Probably Earthbound, so then you would have Chrono Trigger and Earthbound running side by side. Then once Chrono Trigger ends, replace that with say, Final Fantasy IV, and have the series be a perpetual RPG dual-fest.

My only question is, would this be a good idea? How would I title/number the episodes?

As long as there are enough RPGs to go around, I'd have no problem with it. I mean, it's my preferred genre (so of course). I wouldn't know how you'd title or number it though.

I could do each unique combination being it's own numbering? Only problem is if Earthbound took over, it would be Chrono Trigger and Earthbound Part 1, but Chrono would already be in like part 22 or something. That seems confusing but I'm not sure of a better way to do it?

The only thing I could think of is having a running progress in the description (and then an announcement at the start of the videos). I don' think that's the sort of thing you can track with a number.

How do you mean, running progress?
---

Just something like, "In this video, we start Chrono Trigger at such and such place, while in "this game, we're here."" You probably already do that anyway.

Obviously, written with more intrigue, but just something to let the viewer know where you're at. The only other way I can think of that is by utilizing the title (clever puns based on game locations or story), but that's usually only useful for single game situations. That's why the description makes more sense.

In all seriousness, there's no real 'clean' way to do this other than labeling it like "RPG Wednesday Ep 7: Earthbound/Chrono: Brent Hates Blue People" and just have the games featured in the title with the event being the main draw.

And lord help you if you do Persona 4 or Paper Mario TTYD and I don't get a guest spot.

Turtles in Time is a GREAT episode. The chatter starts a little busy but we tone it down as we get into it.

I think for the RPGs it will have to be old school only, 4:3 Ratio is kind of the only way this works.

I think we'll move forward in time as we play them. A few more SNES games, then maybe some PS1 titles.

I'd be open to collabing at some point in the future, as long as the audio quality and synching makes sense. I think we're a bit far out from that right now though.

Side Note, was not a fan of today's episode of Life is Strange. The game really feels like it's padding its length out in a really unnecessary way. In a plot driven game like this, fetching for dumpster bottles is not engaging at all for player, or audience.

Ughhhh I hate getting sick on recording day. Made it through one of my scripts but after that my voice just 100% gave out. Sounded like I was doing Tibetan throat chanting or something when picking up Mario Tennis Aces today.

Also anyone have a good Parsec set-up? I'm on Mac so I can't host it personally, but I MIGHT need multiplayer footage in the future and I figured I could at least deliver in raw footage or something and just put the idea out there for potential collab funtimes.

Pretty damn great Netplay client for sharing your hard drive set-up. Like compared to Dolphin, which is probably the strongest built-in netplay client I've messed with, it's infinitely more stable. By which I mean "I played Project M with three others and it was significantly more playable than Brawl ever was".

So funny you mention this, cause Mike told me the other day that there is a rule in a lot of Nuzlockes that says if you ever lose all 6 Pokemon, your trainer dies and the run dies with it.

...Glad we didn't know about that rule, we would've died twice!

What a fun run though. Maybe with the Switch game we can try something similar.

I think I'm going to upgrade my mic. I scoured through tons of sites, and settled on the ATR2500. I know the AT2020 was suggested, but that's going for about $150 right now. This was about half the price, so it seemed like a reasonable step up from my cheap mic, and I can always jump to the AT2020 later (probably much later, because I've spent a lot of money on startup).

I know I've never asked for subscribers directly. I just post the videos and hope people care. I'll try to support and watch whomever was willing to help me out though...god knows I'm getting super busy though. I just started my internship this week.

I don't think this is meant to be a "Sub for sub" platform though. Some sites on Discord are pretty shameless about it. I believe it's just how you handle the situation. Some places are just, "Sub for me, and I'll sub your shit" or "GIMME SUBS HOW DO YOU GET SUBS! HOW DO YOU GET NOTICED ON YOUTUBE?!"
