When I lived in Wickenburg AZ there was no air conditioning.

That was along time ago though (in the early 70's)

I would not live like that now.

The thing about dry heat is that all a fan really does is blow the hot air at you like youre in a convection oven

Thats why its awful in AZ when its windy in the summer, the wind is just as hot as everything else

There's ice in the cooler. The fan pushes air through the ice chest and chilled air comes out the pipe.

I didn't have A/C growing up (couldn't afford it). Sucked, but 95-100F isn't the end of the world. We'd just make a lot of ice in the freezer, wrap them in towels and keep them on us at all time. There's some states I wouldn't want to be without A/C for long mind you.

It doesn't get too warm where I'm in now, but we've had a stretch where we couldn't use the A/C in July because of renovation, and because of the skylights focusing so much light in one spot, the house ended up sustaining pretty severe damage from the expansion. Walls cracks and stuff. Wasn't pretty.

If it's dry heat, swamp coolers can always take out a degree or two I guess.

I'm in Midland, Texas at the moment, and it's so hot. My Canadian blood is not built for this weather. Tomorrow we're looking at 105. 107 the day after that. And it was even warmer last week.

The more btus then the the more cooler your AC should be keeping your house cool inside

It's not brilliance but it's also easy to make sure the fan doesn't fall into the water or splash back onto the fan.

Had a buddy make this and he said it works really well. Use frozen gallons of water, no worries if the fan falls in because itll just land on plastic gallons. Keep a few in the freezer and just rotate it as needed.

Cold damp cloths on the back of the fan can make the air a little cooler. Good luck today

I put in a maintenance request last night and called this morning just to get in first. The guy said he'd send a message to the vendor but depending on their availability they may not be able to get here today It's supposed to be 107 today.

Did you tell them you have a dog? We ran into the same issue and we made a big stink about how our dogs couldnt handle the heat and they were able to get someone out sooner

Go stay at a hotel if they don't get it fixed. Sounds like you rent, so bill that hotel stay to your landlord or take it off your rent.

Heat like that can be dangerous. We had some 100 degree days last week already here in Tejas, luckily it rained and last couple days it has only been high 80s. Hate the summer.
