So young and naive. When you get older you'll learn there's only so many things you can control and fucks you can give, so you might as well save them for what's important (i.e. yourself, family, friends, etc) as opposed to worrying about the rest of the uncontrollable world.

I know the world is uncontrollable, I'm saying that people shouldn't just shit up the world because they can't technically do anything about it.
I spend most of my energy on people who actually matter, this all being said.

The only problem with this is that it becomes endless talking, and no one ever takes any real action.

Don't like the world? Take the space that you are given, and improve it. Shut up talking and get your hands and feet moving. Teach your children the same. It's like throwing a stone into a pond. Do what is right, others will too. Same for doing wrong.

I agree with it being a lot of talking and no action. I actually intend upon trying to make a difference when and where I can - perhaps by volunteering on medical missions (since that's where my skill set is)

When I have children, I plan on teaching them similarly and trying to guide their moral compass appropriately.

That's good, but traveling to the ends of the earth isn't for everyone. I tried it as a younger man, and it was fun, but not sustainable. I decided that I could do more good in my own community.

My three older children and I do volunteer work. We also grow our own food, much more than we can eat, so we give away 75% of it, and never take any money for it. I have donated thousands of dollars to charities, never once giving my real name. We are dirt poor now, because I've become disabled, but we still put in the work.

I don't expect to see my work change the world, but the stone in the pond hits the bottom long before the ripples end. I'm ok with that.
