Well yeah. He has really good maneuverability and can add barrier though. The lack of damage blocking hurts but I think he's really strong overall. Maybe I was in a good team comp or something but I did really well with him.

It's the Brewers I am not shocked that he was the centerpiece of the trade. I get news emails from the Brewers and they tried to make it seem like this is the trade that will help us.

Just looking at his FG page and oddly enough it seems clear to me that he's probably in the 99th percentile or something for best relievers of all time

edit: I tried to link the FIP- rankings all time for RP with over 300 IP because he's top 30 but the link was huge and I don't feel like bitlying this shit

Today was my sister's birthday and we went out to dinner and blah blah blah. Anyway, birthday cake you get from the grocery store is so good. It's better than any kind of "interesting" cake. Just get a chocolate rectangle with frosting.

I've never thought of myself as a cake guy, but I like most kinds of cake. This might be sacrilege, but I don't like cheesecake. I also don't really like pie. A slice of cherry pie or blueberry every once in a while is fine, but I never seek it out and pretty much always turn it down at thanksgiving and stuff.

The regular grocery stores ones are great, but you know what non traditional kind of cake is great? Angelfood

Cookies are great. Here's a quick power rankings for cookies off the top of my head (and none of that store bought stuff like oreos):

1a. chocolate chip (the king)
1b. oatmeal scotchies (my god these are good)
1c. Peanut butter
2. Ginger snaps
3. Snickerdoodle
4. Sugar

Cookie cakes are good. The closest DQ to me has 50-60% off ice cream cakes the day before Thanksgiving, so that's what I tend to bring to the family Thanksgiving.

Donuts are kind of ruined for me. My parents' resort has a donut machine and they make their own from donut mix... this thing can crank out like 200 donuts an hour. It's kind of their claim to fame. People go apeshit over the donuts. They are good...a fresh hot cake donut right out of the machine (I like mine covered in cinnamon), but year after year I'm just tired of them. The smell is burnt into my brain

Man I want those donuts real bad but I understand getting sick of them when they're in such huge quantities. I used to get donuts for breakfast fairly regularly and sometimes I would look at them in the display and feel like I'd rather die than get another one (then a week later it's donut mania again)

Yeah, they don't have Alamo around here but there is a "dine-in" theater I went to one time. It was egregiously overpriced food that was just fine and they straight up interrupt your viewing to deliver it to you. I saw Now You See Me though which was bad so I didn't care, but I can't imagine seeing a decent movie and having that all happen around you.

Yeah they tried their best at this place too but it's just not the same. Seeing a movie is its own insular experience, I don't really need it to be a whole thing with dinner too. ANd like I said the prices were ridiculous so it didn't help my opinion that it was like a $14 sandwich and chips.

The Cardinals are playing fantasy baseball with their bullpen. They've released Holland, DFA'd Lyons, traded Tuivailala, DL'd Cecil, called up Dakota Hudson and Tyler Webb, and recalled Poncedeleon. All today. The only one of those moves I can't really endorse is trading Tuivailala. He's actually decent and we don't have many decent guys. If this means they're selling for real I'm cool with it but I'm reluctant to beileve that's what they're doing.

I was texting this girl from bumble today (day 3 of our correspondence) and she asked me to share like 6 facts about myself and one of them was basically my politics and her response to that was that we'd all fix all the problems in America if everyone stopped caring about each other's politics and she proudly said she didn't care about mine. This was a red flag for me because I was already thinking there was a decent chance she voted for Trump just demographically (Catholic, lives in Affton MO), and because I want you to care at least a little bit, so I pressed her on it assuming soon we would never text again anyway. And she said she truly thinks that positive attitudes for all people will save the world. I just didn't reply because all I could think to reply was basically a lecture on privilege and how positive attitudes are a privilege so I just let it sit there. Then five hours later she said she could never be with someone who can't even tolerate another opinion after she was so respectful of mine. I don't even know what to think about this. I guess it sucks that I didn't reply and as I said I anticipated this being our last day talking. I feel a little bad though I also think it's a little funny. I mean come on. Positive attitudes will save the world

It's like when my Trump-supporting friends would say "Well I doubt your life is going to be affected that much". Great way to show how much you really care about people. Some just can't see outside of their own bubble I guess

Edit: I should say, that's a reasonable way to console somebody who is upset about the election, but it's pretty dumb IMO to just vote based on your own self-interests when your life is already pretty good

To be fair, when I went to see Ant-Man and the Wasp, there was 45 minutes of previews, plus we got there 10 minutes early, so we were sitting there for almost an hour before the 2-hour movie began.

I didn't have to pee anyway, mostly because spending $8 on a soda is ridiculous, but the previews around here are ridiculous as well.

Here's the canonical opinion for each one:

MI1 - solid fun movie, but showing its age in many ways
MI2 - pretty bad
MI3 - now we're talking
MI: Ghost Protocol - ok NOW we're talking holy shit
MI: Rogue Nation - I thought they would never top Ghost Protocol but somehow they did. Should they even make another?
MI: Fallout - well those crazy sons of bitches did it again
