I'm not sure about effected, but Bourdain is the one I frequently think about and feel sad lately. I saw his show on Netflix and looked through the episodes. I remembered all the episodes I enjoyed and how his show sort of inspired me to get into documentaries for a time and tell stories, and it's just too sad to look at right now. Robin Williams was similar, but enough time has passed that it doesn't come up as much.

Lou Reed, met him twice and at our second meeting he remembered me as "that annoying kid who kept asking to smoke weed with him"

Neat. We didn't smoke together.

Him and Charlie Day are the only two celebrities I've met. Charlie smokes but doesn't match or offer to buy a drink which sucks when you share 2 joints.

I was "affected" most by Bowie in the sense that he was the #1 reason behind the Sad 2016 memes. Just...how can I go on, you know? 2016, man.

On a slightly more serious note, I miss 3Pac. Rising star cut down too soon!

Heath Ledger still depresses me, given that TDKR might have been a much cooler movie. Paul Walker's death occasionally bums me out as well.

Eddie Guerrero was the first time I cried over a celeb death, although there were a lot of celebs I liked who died before he did -- like John Candy and Rodney Dangerfield.

tbh, those were a terrible few years for wrestling, especially if you count that awful "Mr. McMahon is dead" storyline and the illegitimate son angle.

I've never been one to get really emotional over celebrity deaths, but Chester Bennington kinda got to me. Maybe Michael Jackson too a bit. Also, Christina Grimmie. I had never even heard of her before she died but the way it happened made me pretty sad.

I was just chilling in the pool, and was wondering why there was a marathon of his music. All of a sudden, the radio announcer shared the news, everyone in my pool was in shock and got out. I was deeply disturbed hearing that

Michael Jackson.

When I saw the news that he was in the hospital, I saw that frat boys were blasting his music in respect, I just knew the next headline was gonna be that he died.

I heard his music before, but I never really got into Thriller until 2008. In fact I only remember hearing how he grabs his crotch, back in elementary school in 1990.

Not surprisingly, 2009 was the best year I had in recent memory.

Chris Cornell was the biggest for me. Fortunately I was able to see Soundgarden twice (the 2011 reunion tour, and the first night of the King Animal tour) before he died. Love Soundgarden and I liked Audioslave, that one really made me go "damn it...:("

Always liked Dio, never got to see him live. That's a big regret. Same with Scott Weiland and Lemmy but to lesser extents. Tom Petty literally made me yell "WHAT THE FUCK?!" when I found out.

Didn't really know Ledger well enough prior to The Dark Knight, I think The Patriot was the only movie of his I had seen before that (since then, of course, I've seen others).

Robin Williams, despite me liking him a lot, didn't affect me very much for some reason. He was in so many movies that I feel like he's not really gone. Michael Jackson was too "before my time" for me to really feel anything.

If probably say a wrestler. Either Owen, Macho, Piper or Heenan. If them, either Macho or Heenan. And the Fink isnt doing too well these days, either.

I was curious if anyone would say Princess Diana, particularly any Brits. Didnt see the name as I skimmed through the responses.

Top 5, alphabetical.

Chris Benoit - What he did was horrific, but when you realize how fucked up he was from doing what he loved, that makes it even worse in a way.

Johnny Cash - I grew up listening to his music, but the last few years of his life, when he lost June and nearly his voice, were very sad.

Chris Cornell - Depression sucks. As someone said, he was surrounded by people that loved him, but couldn't see it.

Alan Rickman - Totally out of left field, one of the finest actors of his generation gone way too soon. He should have been like Christopher Lee and acting into his 90s.

Robin Williams - Truly tragic how he was more or less becoming a prisoner in his own mind. For someone used to expressing their pain in the way he did, that must have been torment.

And I hope it's not for another 40 years or so, but I know I'm going to be a wreck when James Hetfield dies.

Dick Clark.

New Years Rockin' Eve was never the same when he had his stroke. After that NYRE became utter shit when Jenny McCarthy made a fool out of herself in the early 2010s. (I could probably write an essay on why the 2010s became the most fucked up decade since the late 1400s)

None, why would it? The only reason you care is because you've seen them on a screen. All the reasons you like them still exists.

If you get sad at other people dying too then I'd at least give you credit there

For some reason, Xxxtentacion's death had me super fucked up, despite me not being a real big fan of his.

I think with other celebrities, they were older and had already lived the prime of their lives. But X was a kid I genuinely wanted to see do better for himself and his life was cut so tragically short.
