I doubt anyone from Philadelphia is at all surprised. After all, this was Foles's second tour with the Eagles. There's a reason he remained the back-up in spite of his play last year.

That was my same thought. The reason I presented it here is consensus expert rankings put lewis over williams. I just don't get it. Lewis has a more legitimate competitor in his backfield. And I feel like being clear cut #1 on a Packers offense with Rodgers at home is just automatic value. Not to mention Jordy being gone, though that's minor.

Full disclosure, I have Williams on my own team in the only league I'm in.

He's currently #5 on my RBs behind Gurley, Cook, Shady and Conner. But not that far behind Shady/Conner (who are basically 3a/3b in my book, with Bell out).

I would be starting him without hesitation if I didn't have so many guys in front of him, and will probably be trying to trade him after week 1 unless he gets hurt or puts up a crap performance.

I've thought about this more and I'm actually now tempted to bump Tate up into my WR2 spot instead of flex, bench Mike Evans, and start both Lewis and Williams.

Feels kinda crazy. Benching my 3rd overall pick week 1. But out of all those players Evans definitely has by far the worst matchup and the least predictable offensive situation. On the road in New Orleans, hmmm...

After Thursday's game, I was still favored. Now I'm not. Bleh. Of course, I have no idea why both defenses in the match are currently projected at 0.00, but that shouldn't make a difference.

I have to decide if I want to drop a player to find a replacement defensive lineman. I don't know Joey Bosa is worth holding a roster slot, but he's one of the rare players I'd at least consider it for. Guess I'll see what fortune the early games bring and then forget to do anything.

Drake's also at home in miami. Compared to playing in like 5 inches of rain. I know that tends to mean more rushing plays but still it's not exactly the most stable of situations.

fwiw the source I'd typically go to if I wasn't sure has drake and conner listed right next to each other in terms of all RBs week 1, so..

I was just saying if it was me I'd feel much better going into it with Drake. I think Conner is more likely to boom than Drake, but also more likely to bust, because there are way more question marks around Conner and that game.

And by homerism I just mean I assume you're a steelers fan and it's influencing you, but that was sort of a joke

I would take Drake over Conner today based almost entirely on the matchups.

(To clarify, I do think both are good plays and that if you're having to choose between the two your RBs are in good shape)

I had this turd last year and couldn't bring myself to bench him because of "start your studs" and how good he was the year before. It was bad.

The fact that he's still being considered a top 15ish WR is fucking asinine in my book and I fully support this move.

Also now that it's too late to do anything about it, I need to get this off my chest

I've swapped between Conner and Shady probably 25 different times this morning based on gut feeling. I wound up settling on Shady even though I have zero confidence he'll do better than Conner. I had literally no logic on it, and it was all gut feelings, but I still spent a lot of time thinking about it and trying to reach for literally any bit of logic to make the decision for me. I couldn't really find any.

basically I just need to step back and listen to myself even though I just said this about a different pair of players instead of thinking about it so much.

I've had it backwards all this time. I thought I wouldn't enjoy being in multiple leagues because I didn't want to deal with conflict of interest during the games, but as it turns out, it just makes me not as disappointed when things go poorly. I'm gonna probably have the lowest score in my main league week 1, but am winning my other 3 leagues so it's fine.

Hell, my team from my 10-team league would even still have the lowest score if you copy/pasted it into my 12-team league. Not that's impressive.

Mental note: check scores just before the second game tonight, and see what kind of game Golden Tate had so I know how important ~5 points from a defensive lineman who's actually playing will be.

Totally not going to remember.

A guy in one of my money leagues just offered me a straight up trade of his Ajayi for my McCaffrey.

Thoughts? Gut is saying no, but it's worth considering I guess...

I feel like he's just hoping I'll chase points after week 1. McCaffrey is going to have better usage I feel. Less competition in that backfield and he catches a lot of passes. It's 0.5 ppr btw

As a fellow McCaffrey owner who kept him in a keeper league at a 3rd round value and is regretting keeping him over Tyreek Hill (5th round) right now, I would not trade him for Ajayi. McCaffrey is going to be maddening all year because of Cam. It's gonna be the same story as last year, he'll have big games where he catches a lot of passes and maybe a few touchdowns but his rushing will always be limited. At least you know what you're getting with him, Ajayi who knows if we get last year's Ajayi or Miami Ajayi.

I swear, every time I look, Wickle has widened the gap between us considerably, and his one guy playing has scored a few points, but less than the lead he's gained on me. (I mean, it doesn't help that I'm playing a defense that's now given up 35+ points, but still.)

My % chance to bring it back in the late game keeps dropping, even after I bolstered it a couple points by picking up a replacement DL. This assumes that Gurley hits his lofty 22 pt goal. But that's kinda critical considering I'm now down by 21.
