My Fantasy looks really weird this year. Last year I was carried by my IDP, this week I might lose because of them. Autodrafting disaster of IDPs. 2nd round Dalvin Cook probably a bust too.

A guy in one of my money leagues just offered me a straight up trade of his Ajayi for my McCaffrey.

Thoughts? Gut is saying no, but it's worth considering I guess...

I feel like he's just hoping I'll chase points after week 1. McCaffrey is going to have better usage I feel. Less competition in that backfield and he catches a lot of passes. It's 0.5 ppr btw

So this is the first time my league has moved away from waiver priority order to a FAAB. I'm hoping some guys get over eager feeling like they can make multiple pickups without worry and overreact and drop people who just had a poor week 1.

Never heard of FAAB before.While I'm not really in favor of the idea, it's at least nice to know that the order we start in doesn't guarantee pick-ups in week 2. Other than that, I don't see what's so hard about waiting until after waivers end to pick up free agents. (The page I'm reading on it is lamenting how the guy was at the bottom of the waiver wire because he streamed a defense the week before, and missed out on a key acquisition.)

Generally, the players most worth picking up are going to be gone after waivers clear.

Ok, I get you now. I didn't get much sleep last night and I'm up too late atm. I had to read post 323 like seven times over before I could follow it. Time for sleep!

So, yeah I've done the system where waiver priority resets every week to where last place gets first pick every week. It was frustating when a guy started like 0-5 then got excellent pick ups several weeks in a row uncontested, made the playoffs at 8-5 and won the championship. We changed it after that season.

Otherwise, it should just be a free for all and who has the most timely pickups gets them.

If you use waivers, the only really fair way to do it imo is maintaining priority week to week, and if you use it you go to the back of the line. Randomize starting priority.

(Pretty sure this is also the default yahoo league settings except they do reverse draft order for starting priority instead of random)

Then why do you agree with a snake draft? Why should you get the 1st pick in the 2nd round if your luck was bad and you got the last pick in the first round. The goal is parity for fun. Not to unbalance teams. Fantasy Football is as much about luck as it is skill. Unless you can read the future.

Well I suggested we move to auction in my main league as a matter of fact. But the league didn't vote for it because they didn't want to learn how to do it well. When it didn't pass there I didn't bother learning it either, lol.

I mean I don't prefer any system of waiver priority so I'm not advocating for continuous rolling waivers here, but I have had worse "fun" experiences with the weekly reset than with continuous rolling.

That's tough luck of course. It's also equally possible someone drafts a fantastic team but gets unlucky match ups the first few weeks and then one of the best teams has top priority. I feel over the long run, players who have made the most informed decisions will win most of the time on average, and that weekly waiver resets undermine that.

That could be different in a perfect world where every single player has exactly equal knowledge and understanding of the game, exactly equal dedication, and exactly the same slots of free time. So far I haven't experienced a league like that. So I guess that's why each league can just do whatever works for them.

Man if I play in a 10 team league again in the future I'm going to advocate for a bigger roster. QB/2RB/2WR/TE/FLEX is too small for such a shallow league. I'm mainly saying this because I have Tevin Coleman on my team but don't even benefit from Freeman being out because Coleman still doesn't earn a spot in the lineup.

I was actually making a mental mistake when I said that about Coleman not earning a starting spot. In my head I put Coleman's value at roughly Freeman's original value. But then I remembered that Freeman's base value factors in Coleman already getting a lot of touches. So Coleman is actually higher than whatever the expected value of Freeman would've been. Welcome to my RB2 spot, Tevin.

But now my flex spot is choose 1 from Golden Tate, Dion Lewis, and T.J. Yeldon. It's probably just Tate.
