He hasn't resigned yet, it wouldn't make sense to. I'm guessing that by Mania next year, they'll have enough confidence in his concussion issues to put him back in the ME scene assuming he's signed again.

This. Her character work is great, I dont recall many people saying otherwise. Its always been her in ring work that she was hitnfor, or people hating her because her character is really annoying (which is intended)

Man, Bryan Alvarez and Filthy Tom were not kind to Smackdown. I can't believe they had Carmella do the "woe is me, I'm so humble" fake out promo again. Both of the champions do the same shit. Alexa does that promo every other week it seems like.

And it sounds like they completely robbed the Daniel Bryan and Miz feud of any heat with their awful writing. And it was so bad that Miz said that Daniel Bryan should let his contract expire so he can go back to the Indies and the crowd cheered. I mean, good lord.

And Lana vs Zelina sounds like it was terrible too. They need to stop letting Lana wrestle. Even someone as good as Zelina can't idiot-proof a match for her.

They also got into an argument over whether or not this was Carmella's best match. They figured out that it may have been because they can't remember how good the Melzter rated two star Nikki Bella match was.

And I guess the New Day was just being obnoxious during a legitimately great match between the Bar and Usos?

But Joe had an amazing promo at least?

I dunno. I just hear these reviews and find myself feeling grateful that I don't watch anymore.

I had Smackdown on in the background of my hotel room this week and it honestly didn't seem that bad to me

For whatever reason, Joe is the only guy who can consistently do amazing with the writing he's given. I don't know if he just goes out there and chops it up or he is constantly working with the writers to make it good, but he really seems to be like the only guy who can overcome it every single time.

That totally isn't what he's saying. He is saying that if you don't watch then you don't need to announce in the topic that you are not watching every week.

Well on the one hand it's kind of an unnecessary buzz kill to the people who actually do watch it. I try not to mention skipping all or most of Raw and SD when I do so unless it's topical.

It's topical fairly often, however, cause this topic does steer towards it a lot these days.

Now on the other hand, I do think that empowering other people to skip the show in this topic is possibly a good thing. Speaking as someone who watched the shows in full for years after I was legitimately enjoying it, saving an extra 3 or 4 hours a week by skipping/liberally fast forwarding is great.

I'm not. I didn't even watch it this week

My point is that people can't help but post every single time that they haven't watched it as if it's some kind of revelation or something. Like Lopen said, sometimes when I do watch it, it's a buzzkill to see people being like "Man it feels so good to not be watching X because I'm doing Y instead!" But even when I'm not watching it, it's like... Who cares? It's not really fostering discussion of any kind, and basically makes people sound like they're so addicted that they have to remind themselves over and over that they aren't watching just to feel good about themselves or something.

i don't think it's relevant to mention if like, you are out that night and don't get round to watching. if there was sports on another channel you wanted to watch more. or if your DVR messes up and you didn't get to watch the show.

but if you chose to not watch the show because of how bad it has been lately? i'm open for discussion with you, i'm despairing over my loss of an enjoyable wwe product too. i'm open to talking about your other wrestling options, or hearing what other wrestling you are enjoying. i'm open to discussing the show from the perspective of someone who mostly doesn't watch and hasn't in months. i'm especially open to chat about the things it sounds like were done well and might tempt us back into watching an odd episode.

I stopped watching WWE every week about a month or two ago. Realized it was a waste of time cause nothing interesting ever really happened. Everything in WWE has started just happening to happen, like they don't really have many good ideas and so they're just filling time because they have 5 hours to cover every week. When they do have a good idea, it's usually only half of a good idea.

Actually I don't watch any wrestling at the moment, WWE was the only thing I watched regularly. Why am I here lol

My two cents on this: unless your HCA, I am very interested to hear your opinions on all things wrestling. If you aren't watching, I don't mind spending a few seconds reading your posts about why that may be the case. A post from ExTha saying, "Hey, great match at G1" will spur me to catch up on my New Japan. A post from Biscuit about Smackdown will make me think, "Do I really want to watch this episode? Doesn't sound like my brand of coffee." I won't necessarily skip it, but it does prep me for a bad eventuality. I also just love the general discussion and when the discussion begins to become more sporadic, it's totally fine to talk about not watching.

I just want to talk wrestling and if that's the only conversation we can have, then that's the conversation we can have.

Unless you all start watching Impact. Then we can talk about that.

When did this happen most recently? People keep going on about how this happens every single week, but I'm either blind, or they're exaggerating. I've seen people say they're glad they didn't watch, but it's been like a month since "I'm doing X instead"

Tell me the most easy way and direct way to watch Impact and I'll start watching it if said way is easy and direct enough.

Honestly the only reason I still watch more WWE than anything is it's the lowest hanging fruit. Even NJPW World is a bit more effort than I want to put in in general because I can't Roku it nor can I use T-Mobile's Binge On data towards it. If NJPW had like, a pay youtube channel or something I'd so be there though.

I literally posted what I did to start discussion about the show and add talking points. People could have provided counter points or had any sort of discussion about it, or have corrected me if it seemed like any of those things weren't quite as good/bad as they seemed.

I listen to the podcasts still because I expressly have an interest in WWE and discussions about it but have literally no interest in watching it. And maybe we could have talked about that Smackdown a bit if you didn't derail it into a conversation about people saying they were glad they didn't watch.

It's a post on a message board. You can move on and ignore it. Seeing HCA post he didn't watch is literally a post I move past and never think about again. It's actually super easy. It's 1/200ish posts in this topic.

Missed this post, but wanted to respond.

I don't watch Smackdown until Thursday nights, so I can't really expound on it until then. I would probably respond to your comments at that point but normally the discussion in the topic has moved on by that point and I feel dredging it up again is pointless.
