Like character 1 has an arc and then character 2 has an arc and then character 3 has an arc, etc, until the final stretch of the game when whatever overarching plot threads were foreshadowed for the first 5 hours of the game end up coming back somehow. Like Mac (I think) was complaining about Ann only being relevant for the first 10 hours of the game, but from my perspective that's how it works for nearly every "major" character in Persona 4 and 5. (except replace "first ten" with "second ten" or whatever as needed) Like, the exceptions are what? Teddie and Morgana? Not actually sure I can think of any others from among the main parties of each game at least. (Edit: I guess Makoto and Futaba become relevant again towards the end of P5 for a bit) Persona 3 to me does not feel that way though and that's why I like it the best. There are characters who matter more than 10 hours too though. Naoto matters for literally the entire rest of the game for example. Even if they dont matter story wise theres enough SoL downtime story in P4 where you wouldnt really want anybody missing.
