My dad's from Texas and I've never heard of this.

Though he does have a pretty severe peanut allergy so that could help.

Grew up in NC, never heard about it. Moved to SC and heard someone mention it once. I tried it and it tastes like... peanuts in a bottle of coke. I don't get it at all.
