DoomTheGyarados 08/03/18 11:59:57 PM #1:	Chris slept, and when Chris slept, he dreamed. He dreamed of distant lands and of tragedies that had been visited upon him in a time lost to his waking mind. Chris' mind was always a curious one, with the figurative gears inside of his mind in a constant state of whirl from one topic to the next. He ran himself so hard and for so long that it would seem as if nothing could slow him down until the inevitable would occur: his mind would not just slow, but it would cease and with it his body would fall short of the impossible for another night as his eyes closed until the morning. His dreams were often fitful, horrid things that tormented him until his body would spasm awake as his mind tried desperately to make sense of what it was that occurred in his mind as it twisted a tapestry using pieces of information almost lost to him. Nearly every night this would happen. He would sleep, he would dream, he would wake in his bed, alone and scared. No one to comfort him. No one to chase the darkness from his mind. A lifetime built on doing it for himself and having to grow satisfied with that outcome. Or, did he? In this world of ours there are key moments that define who we are. They are the choices of our lives that, should we be keen, we know looking back that they helped define who we are as a person. No choice is made in isolation though. No moment comes about just in that moment. It takes a lifetime of experience, of information to make that one moment possible. And so... Chris dreamed. Chris sat in his computer chair, his eyes closed in complete concentration as he thought over the circumstances of the mafia game he was considering. He always disliked this sort of thing, the game nearing its end and everyone looked to him for the answer. It didn't comfort him that he had been right the previous three days. There would always be lingering doubts until the very last flip. He had learned to bury that doubt from the public eye, such weakness would weaken his power over a game and right or wrong he preferred to be the one in control when push came to shove. He hummed for a moment before making a post and casting his vote. The host stopped the day and soon after announced the town victory with Chris getting town MVP honors. He smiled. Today was a good day. He liked playing with these people, they were thoughtful and it brought him joy. Suddenly the world stopped and everything turned black and white. Chris could feel the cold sweat pour down his face at the accusation. He was suddenly very nervous about what was happening. "Who are you?" he questioned. I admit to having my doubts, boy. Chris dreamed. Chris always dreamed. Perhaps tonight would be different. Perhaps tonight Chris would wake from his dream a different person than before. If you need clarification on any of THOSE, you may PM me at any time. Firstly, at the end of the game every player who is not disqualified (modkilled) will submit to me who they believe are the top 3 players of the game are. I want this to become an institution of board 8 that will have some sort of reward at some point, although not on a per game basis. I want there to be more to the game than merely winning or losing, because there are a host of circumstances that play this out. This could be a scum who went all the way or a player who scum had to kill night one because they were simply overwhelming in their effort. Like all things mafia, I ask (but will not hold anyone to this) that you not be purely results based. Secondly, a MAJOR RULE SHIFT from how Board 8 has done it in the past is how deadlines work. The deadline for voting will be, as an example, 10:30 PM EST however no stop will be posting and players may continue to post for an additional fifteen minutes after the deadline has passed, they simply cannot vote. However, because of the fact that this fifteen minutes is bonus time any posts after exactly 10:45 PM EST will result in an AUTOMATIC modkill with no discretion being given. Thirdly, this game will be the tiniest bit open setup. I have seen this done before and everyone pre-game knows the following things: 1. This is a TOWN VS MAFIA setup: there is absolutely no role which is independent or acts to the sole detriment of their faction. 2. The Mafia Team has exactly 6 members. No need to guess, the number is 6. 3. The flavor and the setup have nothing to do with one another. Flavor was randomized to the roles. Songs for mafia were picked at random, but they were also given a safelist if they so desire. 4. There are no roles which function based off of flavor. 5.
