Thank god. The first was legit enjoyable, even with it's imperfections. Easily good enough for the second to be a better movie if things were cleaned up and ironed out a bit.

- alpha 5 design was weird and s little creepy
- Goldar design was flat out ass

I know some people complained about the amount of time it took to get into the suits etc, but I personally thought all the character development stuff leading up to it was great.

Toy sales is where the revenue came from. That's where they always intended to make their money.

And Hasbro just bought the franchise outright a few months ago, so it's probably a good move.

I'd assume they'll turn the sequel into a glorified toy commercial, as the spike in toy sales was the only real benefit of the first movie. No doubt a massive cut in the budget as well.

It made a ton off rental services and streams, which is where the profit came from. I remember it being number one, if not close enough once it was out of theaters for a few weeks. The interest and curiosity is definitely there and strong enough to give it a shot.

Plus Hasbro is a toy company, so they have obvious investment in the toy line to fund this massive advertisement. I'm just hoping it won't end up like Batman and Robin and turn the movie to shit because they want product placement out the ass for things that they can make into a toy.

To my knowledge there's actually no data on what series of the toys sold what kind of numbers. It's widely assumed Ninja Steel saw the biggest success.

It was a lot better than I expected it to be. I enjoyed the peppy training montage and the general cast chemistry.

Hopefully a sequel will give Zack and Trini some much needed screen time. Maybe if we're lucky Zack will use Hip Hop Kido >~>

I think that was kind of the problem. It felt like it tried to distance itself way too much from its source material. It's a good movie with lots of character development, but it didn't feel like a power rangers movie. If they can mix the Power Rangers with the character development from this movie, the sequel might be even better.

He was the best part, without him the movie would've had no heart at all. His death, even if it's obvious it wasn't permanent hit hard.

We're still at least like 18 months out. People will probably be recast unless they signed Marvel-esque contracts legally forcing them to come back. They filmed the first movie from January to April in 2016. That means a 2.5 year break, possibly 3. Can't see all 5 being available to return under new management.

It's one of those movies that so bad it's good. But it is indeed very badly done. I can admit my own enjoyment is only gleaned out of pure nostalgia and nothing else.

Wild guess, but one may speculate that since the Green Ranger arc did more to hook viewers than all the prior episodes combined, following that on a sequel to the movie may produce better results.
