By car and by public transit, assuming your answer would differ between the two.

My current is an hour 15. But the pay is good and I work 4 10s. If it wasn't for that schedule I don't think I would tolerate as much.

So like 90 minutes is my max

one way, 90 minutes and 120 minutes, respectively?

ideally, it would be under 30 and 45 respectively, though

I've only ever taken transit. I lived with a forty minutes commute for awhile but I didn't like it. Then they expanded the transit rail line to near my house and now my commute is twenty minutes, which is great.

I also briefly worked at a place where bus times going home made the trip an hour and a half. I only worked there two weeks but it almost killed me.

So I guess the answer is probably 30-40 minutes.

My current commute, assuming I don't oversleep, is about 25 minutes. I can tolerate a 45 minute commute, but anything over that and I hate it.

Depends on how much I like the job, how bad the commute is, and what else is going on in my life at the time.

The longest I've commuted to for more than a temporary job was about 45 minutes one way, but I quit that job after a few months. Most of my jobs have been close to home.

Current commute is 7 minutes

I could do up to an hour. Anything over that would require a lot more money or 4 10s

i do hybrid of car and transit and from leaving my house to arriving at my desk it's anywhere from 45 min. to 1 hour. But I use the transit time to read or mess around on my phone, so it's not just wasted time.

When I worked at Nintendo, my commute was anywhere between an hour to three hours each way.

On 4+ hour total commute days, I usually passed out as soon as I got home.

30mins. I already work 12-14 hours a day 5 days a week pretty regularly so anything more than that would just be too much.

Also if it's an office job (which is pretty much the only job I would ever have) then I wouldn't tolerate any commute. It's the biggest waste of time ever for something that can be done better remote. If it's a few minutes on a bike that's probably fine though.

Central Coast Cali is nice so I wouldnt mind commuting 45 mins to 1 hour, cause thats what it usually takes to get to San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara from where Im at.

It all depends on the job.

How much is the pay?
How stressful is the work?
What's the schedule, and how consistent is it?

The more favorable the answers to those questions, the longer I would be willing to commute.

Probably somewhere around an hour, depending on the pay and job enjoyment.

I do a one hour commute once a week and while I feel like I could manage that every day if I really needed to I wouldn't want to, nor would I willingly do it with my current job.

Maybe a bit more but I've done two hours a few times for job related things and I know that's not something I could do every day under any circumstance.

Depends on if I'm paid for the commute like I am now.

But assuming not, 30-60 minutes driving, 60-90 on a bus. Each way.

My longest commute ever was still under 30 minutes most days, even in 5 PM traffic. That's my limit. I've had two commutes that were under a mile, including my current one, and the relief of never having to worry about traffic - along with the ability to actually go home and kick your shoes off for lunch every day - is such a boon to my overall quality of life that it's hard to imagine giving it up.

God speed to you guys who can tolerate two hours of commuting every day. That's way beyond me.

On public transit I can stomach an hour + especially if there are no "connections" - I got a lot of gaming and reading done when I had that commute.

Driving? Half an hour, 40 tops.

I hate driving and hate being stuck in a car so anything longer than like twenty minutes annoys me. Public transit would be a bit better and I could do longer but like 45 minutes would be tops.

Fortunately right now my commute is five minutes or less.

Currently my commute is about 2 hours by public transit, though it's also generally 3x per week-- I work remotely the other 2.

I feel like I wouldn't tolerate over 30 mins of commuting by driving, though, especially since I only have a motorcycle.

My fiancee by contrast has a 10 minute walk to work.

Most I've done is about 45-50 minutes. I guess I could handle up to an hour, but beyond that, it wouldn't be worth it to me.

Never done public transit though.
