Watched the first two episodes so far.

It's enjoyable so far, just feels like fantasy Futurama a bit? Luci is the best.

Not all the jokes hit but they never did in Simpsons/Futurama anyways.

Watched a couple more eps and I'm honestly enjoying it a good amount. It's got quite a bit of humor that's right up my alley.

It's definitely not at Futurama Levels of amazingness yet, but it is still a lot of fun.

i think netflix might not be a good thing for this show. episode 1 needed to be half its length... 36 minutes was far, far too long

The elf character is more the Fry of the cast. The main character is more like Leela and Bender did a fusion dance. Of course the third character is just straight up Bender, because that wasn't enough Bender yet.

episodes 2 and 3 are so much better than the first

still feels like the comedic timing would be better improved by shortening the episodes down a bit, but they're already tighter-feeling and funnier.

ending the wedding storyline was definitely for the better. i didn't expect the cast to live in the castle but it's kind of a pleasant surprise.

So I consider myself a simpsons aficionado, and Futurama is great too

I can't judge it too much since I've only seen one episode

but the thing is, yea, not all jokes hit, and some were just too corny and failed before they started

but I feel like these jokes hurt even more considering theres only 10 episodes. Its precious and valuable time wasted.

and I agree that it runs for JUST a bit too long

I feel the characters were generic. Any characterzation they DID have was thrown out the window once they got together

but I'm willing to forgive that, I'm sure it'll get better once the status quo kicks in

the jokes that DID hit were just random one offs. Like that king randomly goin "you jerkin me around?" to the chick
or him randomly slapping that kid

and yea, the racist deer joke

it was a one off joke on a sign

and when he showed up, it was just funny that had a pay off at all, the actual racism wasn't funny

its such a weird show

but some of yall saying it gets better gives me hope

I watched the whole season, and I have to say, the show is kind of an extension of the problem with streaming release everything at the same time type shows.

It seems like the whole first season is a pilot. Everyone kind of bounces off each other awkwardly, and there's no defined character lines until the last two episodes, the second it starts to pick up steam, it's over. Which seems typical for shows I've seen air on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

I'll watch season 2. I didn't expect this show to be great going in, but I love the people who work on it enough to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Hmm. Maybe it will be like a Bob's Burgers where the first season is kinda meh and flies under the radar, but then picks up steam and becomes really popular.

hopefully it being matt groening get's enough people to watch it that it doesn't get cancelled right away, as netflix has been doing a lot lately with shows that were probably better than this one is.

maybe "a lot" is an overstatement, but i'm pretty bitter that everything sucks and the break both got cancelled immediately despite both being really good shows. everything sucks took a little while to find itself, but finished really strongly, at least for the female leads. the male characters were all pretty mediocre. the break was great from the beginning.

I finished it today. It's serviceable, but I absolutely agree it just feels kinda like a worse quality Futurama. There's some good stuff in there (I think the king and Eric Andre demon are pretty consistent), but overall it doesn't quite step out from under the shadow of Simpsons and Futurama.

That said, the ending is pretty intriguing and I'll definitely watch a S2 to see if the show finds a unique voice.
