Ah, makes sense. I don't recall seeing buff resists often in the arena, so I think I'll just suck it up for that week. Having break resists as part of the kit for one of the major healers is just too good to pass up.

So looks like UoC tickets are limited to units that have had their 7* forms released, and new units won't be added until their banner's are completed. Seems like a reasonable compromise considering there were concerns Gumi would be bastards about releasing UoC at all.

I'm guessing most people are skipping this upcoming banner outside of trying to get a handful of bonus units? I haven't even played her game, but I enjoy Shantotto enough to throw a couple of tickets perhaps, but that's it. It's not like I'm hurting for mages.

I just want bonus units. I use 4* tickets though, will go for 3 initially and if Olive can't solo DPS it with Grapeshot and the boss with Immolation blast, I'll keep CG Fina in for reraise. If she can, I'll get another 4*.

I'm just waiting for people to realize that they won't be able to show off a fancy 7* Hyoh without pulling 2 on banner right away. If I get 2 of him on the step up, great! If I only get 1, I don't mind waiting for his banner to disappear. No rush.

Well that was a waste of stamina. I was determined to get the 10% moogle from Alhena, because I missed the esper kill the first time around. Apparently I forgot how I actually beat him though, because I had two failed runs because A) I forgot that I brought M. Ramza for a reason, and B) How important using the first phase to get Aeroja stacks up was. Finally got it 150 stamina later. So totally not worth it, but eh, I like moogles.

Now to figure out if I want to try the Trio, Tegmine, or Aldehafera next.

Attempt #2 on Bloody Moon ended the same way Attempt #1 did, only this time I was prepared and had everyone reraised when Scorn hit. But Basch suddenly started taking damage, even with 100% Elemental resistance across the board, so something changed.

All of Phase 1, he'd never take a single point of damage unless a random physical attack that WoL didn't catch hit him, he'd resist all magic attacks. When Phase 2 started, he took a lot more damage, and was impossible to keep up, and keep the other teammates protected as well.

Will make a third attempt when I find another Trance Terra (non)friend come up.

Yeah, Basch absolutely has to be geared for high SPR and HP. The elemental attacks thrown his way really aren't all that damaging, while Meteor Moon is non-elemental and is an absolute beast of an attack since the Moon itself can't be Mag broken. You can break the Apostle's Mag though, so Basch can break them and mitigate the incoming damage from them to make it easier to survive the big hits.

Your biggest challenge from here is dealing with Snort when it comes up. I'm not sure, but I think they fixed the reset trick that let you cheese the RNG for Snort, so you'll have to deal with WoL getting blown out of the fight for three turns. I think I had that happen to me on one of my attempts, and I just turtled for a few turns to keep from dying.

Each of the moon phases in part 2 starts with an AoE mag attack. And even if all the other stuff with the Threshold RNG misses, it still always gives a mag AoE attack. Basch will have his work cut out for him.

I might swap out MS Nichol for Rikku, but I'm worried I will start running into MP issues. My Ayaka can't MP battery all that well, not sure what I'm doing wrong with that. She only regens about 45 mp per turn naturally, so she'd sieve out her resources too quickly.

Honestly, MS Nichol is the better option I think. He's got skills to buff your stats, run as an MP battery, and has a good damage mitigation skill to let you survive thresholds or losing WoL to Snort. All Rikku gets you is an AoE Reraise at the cost of the MP gain and no stat buffs. You absolutely need the ReRaise during the transition, and Phase 1 is easy enough that Ayaka can take two turns applying the reraise. After that it gets a little hairier, because his thresholds do have a chance of using the instant-death, but RNG will RNG no matter what, so you're kind of rolling the dice as is.

It was credit towards a stepup. When you need 25000 Lapis to do a full step up on a good banner, 4k Lapis gets you that much closer.

Lapis and tickets are pretty easy to hoard if you arent impulsive and feel like you have to spend them as soon as you get them.

Personally I've gotten 3 rainbows from the free dailies and next month we'll get 5 10+1s if the end of month 10+1 trend continues.

I'd rather have 30 opportunities to possibly get a rainbow than maybe making up to 4k lapis.

Trio would be much easier for you if you had 2 tornado/aeroja chainers instead as well as an enhanced Dragonlord. It kind of hinges on it actually because you need to be able to 2 turn the first boss, 1 shot the 2nd and 1 shot the moon with a kafrizzle and bahamut cap.

I had considered doing that, but I would like to try it this way around first.

Something to keep in mind: Not all of us powergame or have the most meta units. And sometimes we just want to do things in a less efficient manner becaues it is more fun for us that way.

Is the Trio essentially full versions of the actual fights, just back to back to back, or are they "lite" versions of the actual fights?

I can't even beat Moon yet, so I doubt I'd be able to do the Trio any time soon if it's the same fight, just third in a sequence.

It's all three fights as they were. Elakifarkas (or however it's spelled) and Echidna have been pretty well power creeped, so I'm hoping they won't be too bad, especially since I plan to bring M. Ramza to soak up the Charm ailment. Moon is the part I'm worried about just because it took me a couple tries to get it down, and I'd rather not have to relearn the fight when I have to get through a huge moose and an annoying woman serpent to get to it. As I said, I thought about Dragonlord cheese, but I don't have a handy fire imperil, nor am I confident in my ability to time the kill right.

Bloody Moon down! (+all missions to boot!)

I was in full on panic mode for the final stretch though lol.

Team was:
Basch - Magic Tank, swapped resistance gear out for HP/Spr
WoL - Full Evasion, Provoke tank (like 5k hp lol)
MS Nichol - Buffer/Battery
Ayaka - Reraise chain (literally all she did was dual cast Reraise in rotation)
Trance Terra - A little over 1k Magic
Friend Trance Terra - 1220 Magic

Round 1
Twili Guard
Provoke
Buff
Reraise/Reraise
TT 1 cast Biora
TT 2 cast Holy

Round 2
WoL cast Stone from Golem
TT 1 cast Blizarra
TT 2 cast Cura to get everyone topped off.

Round 3 is when the fight actually started for me.
Basch - Twili Guard / Mag Break every other turns
WoL - Provoke every turn
----(In Hindsight, I should have had Basch Guard every other turn, but he really didn't need to)
Ayaka - rotated Reraises as a safety net
MS - Buffed and Batteried
TTs started their chains after Magical Activation

When Phase 2 started, everyone was reraised, so no one died. I never had a Snort happen, or another Scorn throughout the fight. Rotations stayed pretty steady.

When the moon died, Basch, WoL, and TT Friend got snorted from the battle while I still had an Apostle of Air, Dark, and Light up. I thought I had screwed up, but I was able to kill the Apostle of Air with my TT the very next turn since it only had 4% hp. With just the Light and Dark Apostles up, MS Nichol was able to use Defensive Barrier and Light/Dark Resistance to minimize their damage, Ayaka was able to keep everyone reraised and healed, and TT eventually took care of the last two Apostles.

These Trials are intense >_>.

I've been trying to think of a logical reason behind it, but that's really all I can come up with too!

I'd be interested to see how many players they lost with 7*, and how many they could potentially lose with how they're handling UoC now. Is there another way to tell outside of how easy it is to get rankings in arena/raids?
