So are we going to have to wait until the third installment for the Odin fight? Would make sense since they killed the hype for the Zeus fight in GoW III by already having him as the final boss of II.

Anywho, I also just finished this game a couple weeks ago and what a phenomenal experience. Along with Mario Odyssey, one of my favorite games in years.

Agreed so much. Another reason why GoW III Zeus was disappointing. But just in general, they should have probably saved him for III, so he'd have been built up the whole time as the final boss of the series, and one you hadn't already fought yet to boot.

If you skip all the sidequests and just do main story, yes, it can be done in 24 hours.

This does devalue the game quite a bit, but I've heard people who do a speed playthrough still find it enjoyable.

In general, the game is designed much more akin to a Zelda (well, a Twilight Princess/Wind Waker style Zelda) than the old school GoW games what with the freedom to explore. It's one of the reasons I loved this game so much; so many of the design choices oozed Resident Evil 4 and Wind Waker vibes to me. RE4 in the way they hid collectibles and secrets, and Zelda in the openness...and sailing.

I spent around 60 hours just beating God of War and I still hadn't done a bunch of sidequests. The game is loaded with content and it's pretty much all worth seeing. The quests are often as good as the main game and it's hard to believe they're relegated to side content. Major props to the dev team for that achievement.
