A lot of white people don't really get what it means as a concept, so they do feel attacked. One of my dumbass friends actually got mad and asked a black guy if he was "accusing her of white privilege," which is not at all how that works.

But it's commonly used in a borderline insulting manner. Especially when used to undermine the accomplishment or favorable circumstances that a white person could find themselves in.

99% of people don't say that. white privilege doesn't mean that either. white privilege exists even in areas that aren't majority white. it's because of how power happened to develop over the course of history.

the thing is, white people are the only ones who have the power to really do much about it, and for obvious reasons, they don't really want to (and that is completely logical)

The best way to get people to acknowledge white privilege exists is to ask them one simple question: "Do you wish you were black?"

The problem is that it's being used on a personal level. That is not possible. A white person does not have white privilege. White people as a whole have white privilege. The idea of describing a general trend in a population is fine. When you try to break it down to the individual level, then you get the morons comparing the privilege of homeless white people to regular middle-class black people.

Im intrigued. White privilege exists in areas that arent a majority white? What privileges do white people have in these areas that the majority population does not? Serious question.
