Its always been before that you could call an unspecific group of people an insult as long as it wasn't directed at anyone. For example saying "There are a bunch of clowns who hate on Jordan Peterson whenever they get the chance" was always ok.
Also, while you couldn't say a poster was lame or a dumbass or stupid, you could always say someone was making themselves look lame/stupid etc. Apparently that's changed cuz I just got two "message from moderation staff but not deleted" mods about those two exact things.

I think I happened to piss off a mod and they're just piling up these obviously nonsensical moderations so that if I actually do slip up even a little bit, boom they're gonna hit me with the suspension hammer. And point to my "extensive" moderation history as their excuse.

I posted a video of police departments refusing to allow citizens to file a complaint and even using intimidation to get them to drop the entire issue. I see the same kinda behavior from the mods here.

But here come all of the quality posters to explain to me why those mods are right and I'm a horrible person who should kill himself. Lol god CE is just full of Cranky E-bullies. What a quality gimmick that is.

Here are some examples of moderation I've gotten, besides the first one.

You can't name call at all. "boy"

You can't imply an insult. "some of these posts seem low iq"

You can't make fun of someone. "you're salty"

You can't make jokes that could be perceived as mean either. "canada = trash"

You really can't make any sort of 'mean' sentence towards someone without being extremely indirect or very obscure.

Yeah "clown" was one I just got popped for, which is whatever. But the "You're making yourself look stupid" is one that just sucks. Like there's a difference between being stupid, and doing something stupid or making yourself look stupid. One describes the person, the other two describe the action that person is doing. And yeah we can't insult people, sure whatever, but we can't insult their actions now? That's absurd.

Pretty soon disagreeing is going to be a moddable offense.

The last one is a direct flame. Putting "Making" in front of it doesn't really change much. The first two should be fine though.

The first one is by far the worst. You're calling them a stupid person. The last one is just like the 2nd tho, when you make yourself look stupid, you're doing something stupid. Funny part is I bet if I put "you're making yourself appear to be stupid" it'd have less of a chance of getting modded despite being the exact same thing.

No it isn't, not even close. In fact its basically implying they're not stupid, but are appearing stupid atm due to some stupid action they made. You don't say "you look stupid right now" to a stupid person, you say it to someone who isn't stupid that made a mistake.

I agree that theyve gotten too harsh on supposed flames. But from what I understand they were proposing it as an all or nothing deal - that is, either all name-calling is moddable or no name-calling is moddable unless it crossed over into offensive or trolling territory. Not sure why the admins felt it needed to be that way, but they went with the zero-tolerance approach.

Yeah it depends on the context. I think including the "right now" makes it clear you're saying its a temporary status of how the appear at the moment, as opposed to "You look stupid, which makes me think you are a stupid person"

But again guys, this distinction likely doesn't matter anymore cuz the mods are just gonna mod everything. They can do it now with that "mod but don't delete" which isn't challengeable and counts towards your mod history so you can be suspended with a single actual moderation and a ton of those "non delete" moderations. So lame. I can't wait to win the lottery and buy this fucking site and dox these mods.

Cuz the mods wanted more power. They need to be able to mod posts so they can feel like their lives have purpose and they have sway over someone's life. I always use this example, but its perfect. In elementary school we used to have a math teacher that would have us just pass our quizzes to the left or right or some shit and that student would grade your paper, and you'd grade someone else's. Well one day I had this bitch ask the teacher if she could mark my answers wrong because my 0s looked a little like 6s, and she had a huge grin on her face as she marked each one wrong. That grin is the same shit eating grin these mods get when they suspend you on some obvious bullshit. Luckily for me I could take that paper to the teacher and say "C'mon, this is math, not a penmanship class, you know I got the right answer (I've always been hella good at math) so do the right thing" and she did, much to that little c****s dismay. Issue is that the "teacher" in this case is just another mod, but they get "lead" in front of their name as if that makes them any less of a... Well you fill in whatever word you feel works best lol.

What is your opinion on the "you are stupid" "you're being stupid" and "you're making yourself look stupid right now" debate? Are they all definitely moddable? Are a couple just arguably moddable? And am I right about mods allowing small, nonsense moderations to build up just to nail a poster later?
