Finally I'm Free!!!!

Was really stalling out at working on stuff so I banned myself from all anime/games/tv/friends/forums/whatever for a week. First 5 days were productive, last 2 felt like torture. My brain is mush. Still have tons more to code. Feels endless.

Caught up on goblin slayer and its still quality although there was a random awful cgi scene when goblin slayer was walking away from the camera towards red haired girl who was in the window. Felt like it was 5 fps. I don't fucking understand why they don't put anime cgi at higher frame rates. It desperately needs more than the 24 fps of standard tv to not look hideous. It's not like it even takes any more effort either.

Still have no idea where goblin slayer plans to go. This last episode kinda felt like it was wasting a lot of time and it kind of bugs me to be 2 eps into an anime and still not to know what to expect from it. It's also getting increasingly hard to believe that people wouldn't know about the dangers of goblins. I mean, they destroy villages and routinely rape and kill people in large numbers. Theres no way these kinds of stories wouldn't have spread more. They all remind me of the chosen from the last sovereign.

Probably about to watch new SAO episode. To the people talking about it before, it seems to be back in a more serious and fantasy direction and for years light novel readers have been saying this is when it gets good (and that it'd be too long to adapt, this one arc is literally longer than everything before it put together). No idea how true it is but the first episode was a good one.

Senran Kagura is always censored. Annoys me to no end. No oppai, no manko. You even get black sensor bars when you fully nude up the girls. Extra censoring is just...why hit em when their down? Course its kinda nice that PC gets the full game. Hopefully it continues the trend of japanese PC ports long enough for the japanese companies to stop sucking complete ass at porting to PC.

I'm enjoying Goblin Slayer quite a bit. The last little part at the end piqued my interest. First time I've decided to watch something weekly in a long time.

Was very dissapionted by goblin slayer episode 2, the first one was much better, hope the next is better as well. This one just seemed like filler and some back story/history, and the nudity was pretty much pointless as well....why were we seeing the red haired girl naked a bunch?

I mean in the first episode the nudity was for a reason and made sense, and hit hard because of that...this time it was just pointless. The characters didn't really develop at all, and it left me feeling like there may actually be no over all point to the show, just random goblin killing etc. The end (preview) at least shows something might happen in the next episode, but blah.

Was really looking forward to episode 2, so it was a big letdown, it was worse then any of the episodes of Grimgar that is for sure.

Yeah, to a lesser extent I agree. I mean, I'm not sure how the show would actually stay interesting if he just keeps killing low tier fodder goblins and nothing else. I think the mention of a goblin king and of significantly increased goblin activity are the hints for where the story will go but it feels really directionless so far. Really just feels like things haven't started yet.

Honestly it's starting to not make sense as well.

They had all these quests up on the boards, including quests to kill dragons, bandits etc, all much more powerful/harder then goblins. I mean, i don't care if there is a goblin king who is 50x stronger then most goblins, it's not stronger then a dragon.

And the other Silver members were scoffing at fighting goblins like it's nothing.

Meanwhile, none of the "harder" monsters are kidnapping and raping girls and destroying villages......just the goblins...which are beneath notice to anyone except brand new adventurers or......Goblin Slayer.

I mean, if they are that easy to destroy, why don't the higher level players just wipe em all out so they stop raiding and raping etc? Goblin slayer can't be the only high level player to lose relatives etc to them......A group of high level adventurers that just focused on destroying them could do so easily (not that Goblin Slayer seems to really be having a hard time).

So yeah, I hope things get better cause I liked the first episode and it had potential, but the second one has really thrown me off.

Just watched the first 3 eps of slime datta. This anime is great. I'm actually a little bummed I started it cause now I have to wait for more. The episodes are pretty light so far so I feel like it'd be easy to marathon a lot at once. I wonder when rimura turns into the human looking girl from the intro.

Also got valkyria chronicles 4. Not too far in but it really bugs me that the story cutscenes are randomly broken up the way they are. It really kills the pacing to get kicked back out to a menu after every single scene. Gameplay has been pretty fun so far but quite easy. I assume that will change later on. Currently it feels really OP to stick an engineer in a corner and then park my tank to completely block them off so they can't be hurt and can repair the tank every turn but I guess a lot of missions seem pretty aggressive so you can't really sit in one spot too much. The battle potentials are hilarious and its a fun system.

Watched episode 1 of bunny girl. I quite like the main guy. The show sorta reminds of a much less shaft version of the monogatari series. It's just got that sorta dialogue and slow paced strangeness to it. Of course, shaft is a huge part of monogatari so I'm not putting this on its level or anything. I'm interested to see where it goes though.

So far it looks like all the things I was planning to watch have turned out quite good. A much better anime season than I thought it'd be when I looked over the list a few weeks before it started. Even SAO has started off better than I expected. Slime datta and bunny girl have both definitely exceeded my expectations.

Watched episode 2 of bunny girl now. It's actually feeling more and more monogatari. At the very least it's taken inspiration. While the mechanism is different (aberration vs adolescence syndrome), the actual story is practically the same set up.

Also I must praise this show for something small that I feel like I never see done. One character noticed something and looked at it, the other character saw her look at something and followed her gaze to see what it was, the first person noticed and looked away and the other person didn't say anything about it till later. So often you see some character visibly notice something and no one seems to notice their obvious facial expressions and eyes looking somewhere else. The show in general feels like it expects more from the viewer than most anime and it's refreshing.

Although I gotta criticize the way they brought up shcrodengers cat. The dude made up that example of the cat being both dead and alive as a way to make fun of how absurd that principle is but it just keeps getting misrepresented as him actually supporting the idea. "Schrdinger did not wish to promote the idea of dead-and-alive cats as a serious possibility; on the contrary, he intended the example to illustrate the absurdity of the existing view of quantum mechanics". The show continues to misrepresent it as him saying the cat is half alive and half dead. The idea of quantum superposition is that all states FULLY exist until its observed at which point it collapses into a single state.

Another episode of the Conception anime. I feel bad for the main character (name unimportant, as it generally is for generic milquetoast harem protags). Episode 1 makes it look like he has to do the dirty to make a Star Child, but Episode 2 shows that both partners only have to want to do the dirty to get a Star Child, so he ends up blue-balling it.

I heard people comparing bunny girl to monogatari, and that it doesn't compare. Monogatari has one of a kind visual direction and style that just cannot be matched. It's just so unique from its artistry, like cowboy bebop and Evangelion.

Imitation crab meat will never match real crab meat.

Monogatari still stands as king but bunny girl is still a good watch. if you liked monogatari, chances are pretty decent that you will like bunny girl. It's definitely a level or two down in the strangeness department though, even outside of not being shaft made and directed. Still, a more grounded approach to the same concept isn't bad.

I finished up the last 7 episodes of HeroAca. Decent I suppose. I'm really confused as to how they didn't realize that one guy was just phasing through the floor and thought he could actually warp. Like wtf, do they not have eyes? It was also a really lame attack when they taped antigrav bolders and then dropped the tape that way. How does that have any benefit over just shooting out tape and why did no one even attempt to evade it since it was pretty slow.

It's kind of frustrating how little the powers actually matter. Like how people can take brutal punishment with no defensive quirk and no explanations for why they aren't instantly dead when say, deku punches them or massively burned when bakugo blasts them. Really makes it feel like none of the fight actually matters.

It is kinda funny though. Slime and goblin slayer are almost the exact opposite in tone even though they deal with similar worlds. Slime is quite lighthearted and fun. It's nice to have them both in one season for the juxtaposition.

So I've been playing the Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga remake for the 3ds, and I was planning on doing a near completionist run (all items and stuff, but not max level), and I just found out that I missed three pieces of endgame quality gear in a place that closes permanently after a certain point.

Which is stupid because you only got Luigi during that point, and I was deliberately not fighting enemies in order to not skew the levels between the bros, and I was certain that the enemies there didn't drop anything worthwhile.

But apparently they changed it up for the remake because they made one of the enemies drop the BEST gear in the game during that part, but only if you also have the gear that guarantees a rare drop (which the casual player probably won't have by that point. I only got it because I was actively farming beans for it). So if you gave that accessory to Mario (like I did), you're screwed. And don't count on getting it once you have the bros back together because the place closes up right after you're done with it, so you can't even go back and farm them. Goddamit Nintendo.

Welp, that's 12 hours down the drain then... time to restart I guess.

Did a very light amount of digging and theres no real good news. Nothing has been announced but apparently it will be quite tricky to actually adapt the next few books and the anime is releasing much faster than the source which we are almost caught up to.

There could be a pretty big delay between season 3 ending and a season 4 coming out. If season 4 isn't 2 cour then apparently it will end on an annoying cliffhanger or be really really rushed. On top of that, it's madhouse adapting it not known for putting out sequels. Theres a very real possibility there never will be a season 4. Best case is probably them making a 1 cour season 4 that ends on a cliffhanger releasing sometime in the middle of next year (probably summer, maaaaybe spring).

The books in general have been coming out with large delays (the last volume was 6 months late). So far each season has adapted 3 volumes so season 4 should be volumes 10-12 if it continues this way. The last volume release (this april) was volume 13. The story is supposed to end around volume 20 so roughly 4 more seasons. The good news is, if they actually make a season 4, theres a pretty good chance they will just adapt it to the end.

Thankfully, I really really like this game, and I'm pretty good at it so I have no problems with blasting through and replaying everything so far.

Though I am a little miffed that I have to redo the Bowser's Minions sub-game as well. It's not bad, but it does get boring and stale a few times. Not looking forward to slog through the early parts of it.

Thank god they added the option to fast-forward scenes and skip tutorials.

Yeah they really seem to be bent on taking worst company title from EA lately. Granted, this has no direct effect on me since I don't got the money to pay for anime anyway. A lot of comments I saw were along the lines of "good, fuck crunchyroll". Guess they been getting a lot of hate lately.

Wow, that episode of goblin slayer flew by. If I didn't know otherwise, I'd think this was a short form anime. Seriously how was that anywhere near 20 minutes? Whelp, time for SAO. Hopefully it remains good.

Definitely. It's why I tend to read guides for RPGs instead of playing blind like I do for other games (although anything with a missable collectible element I might start reading guides for)

When October ends, I'm probably going to watch Daily Lives of High School Boys, which I discovered when looking for a shocked image on giphy a while back and then was curious what it was actually from.



Then I watched a clip or two from the show and it seemed like it might be amusing. Apparently it's only 12 episodes long. If I really like the anime, I'll have to check out the manga (still need to read the Saiki K manga)

Yeah, they removed that topic from the anime forum and stuffed it in one of the "Misc." forums to try and get it to die off. No luck. People are still mad about High Guardian Spice.

I have not. My RPG Maker experiences are limited to Android (i.e. Kemco), Steam (i.e. Aldorlea Games and friends), and several free-to-play titles. But it does not surprise me that eroge exist in that format.

Think I have both of those downloaed, with a slew of others lol. Liking Evenicle so far, though there hasn't been much reason for it to be a rpg yet. Guessing I'll get more freedom later on.

Nichibros (daily lives of highschool boys) is fantastic. One of the best comedy anime out there and its comedy style is different from most other comedy anime.

I've played a pretty ludicrous amount of adult games (somewhere in the high hundreds if not over a thousand) but only a few of the translated japanese rpg maker games. Actually playing through meritocracy off and on right now. I didn't finish it but yukiiro quest was also pretty good. Escape rugomu fort was also good, almost forgot about it.

The western ones worth some attention are noxian nights (you play as riven from league of legends, its a finished game). Adventures of tara is fairly short and decent. Not sure if its done yet. Bandit assault is also decent and finished. Theres two that are of much higher quality but not finished yet. The last sovereign which has about 10-20 hours of content and daughters of essence which has about 8-10 hours. The last sovereign will probably go on forever but it has a good story. It's sort of a huge pain in the ass to play though cause its very easy to screw yourself over by not making the right investments or doing things in the wrong order and it all kinda spirals down on you over time. It would make a better anime than game IMO but the story is legit great. Daughters of essence is much easier to play and also has a good story but its got a lot longer to go.

I feel like I'm forgetting a few but a lot of the rpg maker games get abandoned pretty early in.
