i'm really REALLY banking on the sonic mania good will and general positive attitude (that is also semi-ironic) towards the sonic franchise in 2018 to help drive Knuckles and maybe Metal Sonic to several victories

I mean Knuckles is unironically a top ten character for me but Sonic Team has done him wrong for the past 15 years for the most part as they forced him to take a backseat to Shadow and turned him into a straight up idiot

that being said him being an idiot is super charming in the Sonic Boom cartoon show so they made the most of a bad situation there and he is playable in Sonic Mania so maybe he can finally make a turnaround

I mean everyone uses past results to some degree

character strength hasn't fluctuated that much anyway with rare exceptions

the nine most popular characters in 2002 are still among the most popular characters now, even if they're not the top nine

they fluctuate enough to make things unpredictable but it's pretty rare for a character to go from fodder to near elite or do the reverse
