Buying older systems is fine. But you can only play older games. So, it may work well for some...

yeah but we're talking in the sense that "nobody needs the newest stuff and that buying the cheapest option is probably the best for most people"

that seems to be where this topic is headed

hell why not just poop outside and save the water?

on video game consoles I just always wait for at least the first price drop. by then the system has built up a decent library and I can make a better informed decision which console is the right choice for me.

I have a ps4. only paid like 250 for it. probably could have gotten it cheaper but i'm not a fan of buying used consoles if I can help it. used games i'll buy all day though.

You could also save money on TP by just showering after every poo. not sure if the money lost from water bill increasing would overshadow the savings from the TP. depends how often you poo i guess.

$1,200 is not that much money to anyone except NMB and unemployed bums like him.

I feel like hating on NMB is so in vogue people dont even think about what they say. 1,200 dollars isnt life changing money, but its 1-1.5 months worth of pay for me, with the job I have now, so yeah it is a decent chunk of money.

Actually I imagine a lot of people who work would agree. Maybe not to the level they would forgo a toilet, but still.

Talk about not thinking about what you say... $1,200 is a month of pay to you? Jesus, man, get a better job. That's an annual salary of about $14k.

I should though amend my statement to also include students who work minimum wage jobs while going to school. Any adult who works these types of jobs should be embarrassed though. These jobs are meant for kids, not adults. Adults should have an actual career that pays decent money.

I don't know if you're a student or what your situation is, but $1,200 really isn't that much money at all to anyone with an actual career. An average $50k salary comes out to around $1,000 per week, so that $1,200 is about a week's pay for most adults with careers.

The average American makes under 45k a year and is also one paycheck away from homelessness or other financial disaster. You'd be surprised at how many people $1200 is a big chunk of change for. That's a week and a half of pay for the average person.

If you make $45k a year and are nearly homeless, then you're living way beyond your means, and that's your own fault.

No, youre living in California.

It's kind of hard to understand the value of money when you've never had a job and earned your own money. It's like being a kid. Kids don't often appreciate the value of money since money is just given to them freely without earning it.

NMB's budgeting is ridiculous. A bicycle isn't a suitable replacement for a car for most people. You can't carry groceries and other things on a bicycle, and some people have long commutes to work. A suitable replacement for an expensive car is a cheaper car, not a bicycle.

That said, it is a suitable replacement for quite a few people who could actually bike instead of driving everywhere. Cars are still very useful for things like a weekly grocery trip, but you can save quite a bit of money by biking or walking to work/school, if your commute is less than about 10 km. It's something that a lot of people should seriously consider, rather than brushing it off as being too hard without really thinking about how it could be made to work.

Of course, if all of your neighbours are wild dogs, a bike isn't going to be a viable option, but that's fine.

Even a short trip in Arizona during the summer isn't practical on a bike.

lol @ anyone thinking $1200 is pocket change.

That being said, if you take this deal, you may not have a job for long, since you pretty much can't use the bathroom at all at work. Or you'll get fired pretty quickly if you do.

It is only 8 hours. And you can take a break half way through to go somewhere more private.

Hell throw some adult diapers on use them on lunch and replace them immediately. No one will ever know and you are still fulfilling the no toilet obligation.

I've actually been able to train myself to not need to go to the bathroom provided my work day doesn't exceed 8 hours. Depends on the job and how lax they are on you letting you go whenever though. Some jobs I never needed to others I was in and out all day. How much I'm allowed to stop working to drink something surely is a factor too

How do you go 8 hours without urinating? Do you not drink enough fluids and are basically dehydrated all the time? That doesn't sound healthy. I tend to urinate about once every 2-3 hours.

Most people do not hold their pee that long unless they're sleeping.

Plus, it's assuming you will only have to pee. You may normally be able to hold in poop, but woe to thee who gets diarrhea at work.

I drink about 3 litres a day. I can still go through work without taking a piss. But if you can't make it 8 hours if you can make it 4-5 you can go on lunch break.

It depends on where you work, though. Like, currently, I work in a job that has me mostly outside. And there's a small area where I could poop, if needed. Or have diarrhea there, too. Even with my job on base, I worked on the flight line. One guy has to poop really bad. He couldn't make it inside. He pooped on the flight line, and washed it away with a bucket of water. It might not be a problem at all jobs. But probably will be more of an issue at some. Though, either way, you could always carry a bottle & bucket, or just bucket for some, around. And toilet paper, of course...
