Inviso, I didn't create the scenario. Someone proposed a hypothetical where the president commits treason by murdering one of the branches of government of the country. If you have a better way course of action the third branch of government could take after that, I'm all ears.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/14/trump-legal-team-takes-back-paul-manafort-will-tell-the-truth.html

After Manafort, Trump's former campaign chairman, agreed to cooperate with prosecutors working for the special counsel on Friday, President Donald Trump's legal team released the following statement attributed to Rudy Giuliani, Trump's outside counsel in charge of the Russia probe:

"Once again an investigation has concluded with a plea having nothing to do with President Trump or the Trump campaign. The reason: the President did nothing wrong and Paul Manafort will tell the truth."

Minutes later, they seemed to reconsider. A "corrected" statement removed the bit about Manafort telling the truth. That statement said, in full:

Once again an investigation has concluded with a plea having nothing to do with President Trump or the Trump campaign. The reason: the President did nothing wrong.

Also, in case people are confused: a British king is above the law, by law and precedent. An American president does not stand in the place of the king and is not above the law. The American People do stand in the place of the king and are, therefore, above the law in the eyes of the law.

I mean, it's not the first time that a candidate for supreme court had sexual allegations against them.

Anita Hill didn't stop Clarence Thomas from being nominated, though. America in general doesn't give a shit about women, so yeah, I'm not sure what you're worried about.

(The GoP clearly knew that a sexual assault case would surface, though, because they were ready with a letter signed by 65 women saying Kavinaugh hadn't raped them, so yeah...they knew this was going to be an issue).

Really? More people died directly from the hurricane and not after effects than people died from 9/11 and not after effects?

During the September 11 attacks of 2001, 2,996 people were killed (including the 19 hijackers) and more than 6,000 others injured.[1][2] These immediate deaths included 265 on the four planes (including the terrorists), 2,606 in the World Trade Center and in the surrounding area, and 125 at the Pentagon.[3][4] The attacks were the deadliest terrorist act in world history, and the most devastating foreign attack on United States soil since the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.[5]

As of August 2013, medical authorities concluded that 1,140 people who worked, lived, or studied in Lower Manhattan at the time of the attack have been diagnosed with cancer as a result of "exposure to toxins at Ground Zero".[14] It has been reported that over 1,400 9/11 rescue workers who responded to the scene in the days and months after the attacks have since died.[15] At least 11 pregnancies were lost as a result of 9/11.[16]

Yeahhhh...agreeing with Corrik here.

The follow up in Puerto Rico was pretty shameful, but so was the follow up after 9/11. John Stewart after he retired literally made it his mission to try and get health care for 9/11 first responders that congress didn't feel like funding:

People don't understand why it's a greater tragedy.

9/11 was a hectic day where our response was about the best it could be in the moment to do as much as possible to save as many lives as possible.

Puerto Rico was a complete and utter failure for months by what was supposed to be the most powerful nation on Earth, by both the federal government and the local ones.

9/11, less people died than should have thanks to the heroics of a few.

Puerto Rico, more people died than should have thanks to the cowardice of all.

It was preventable. We knew what the storm was, we had the resources to help these people, and we didn't. Thousands shouldn't have died but we let them. And that's why it's such a gross and inhumane tragedy to happen under our watch.

The weirdest thing about Puerto Rico is there a lot of people that deserve to take the blame beyond Trump(And by in large, the biggest issue was the infrastructure was shit and that is a problem going back many presidents ago).

Trump for whatever inexplicable egotistical reason has decided to own the issue and claim it as some great success when in fact its a been a long-reaching failure on multiple levels.

Its not even his failure for the most part but claiming it as a great success is honestly quite sickening while at the same time just totally confusing.

I would argue the fact that Puerto Rico was our fault makes it a worse event in certain regards, not all. I guess it's really dependant on what angle you wanna look at it from. 9/11 was a shocking national tragedy, Puerto Rico is an unsurprising national shame.

Yeah this.

Katrina happened to Bush and his response was shitty but there was an understanding that "Bush" was a proxy for all sorts of failures up and down the government.

PR though....he keeps claiming it as his. And its an undeniable dumpster fire.

9/11 was not a bigger failure but definitely a bigger tragedy. Puerto Rico sucks but its not world changing. The world was destined to never be the same place again after 9/11. People can learn and prepare for hurricanes and natural disasters. But 9/11 flat out changed the way people see the world. Just the way people reacted to things after that day and the sense of unease in the world, its absolutely unmatched. It didnt just take a toll in terms of lives lost, but the lives we live everyday will never be the same again.

Most of the failure came from intelligence lapses and a questionable foreign policy.

But we didn't know exactly when it was gonna happen or what it was gonna be. We knew exactly what Hurricane Maria was, when it was coming, and what we would likely need to save people. And we didn't do it. That's so fucking disgusting it makes me more ashamed to be American than any Trump tweet or stupid thing the GOP does.

lmao literally what

If you actually read my post, I said I disagreed with Rock.

Also

I mean, I dont agree, because I think the resulting wars and the death toll from that is worse, but more peopled died in Puerto Rico as a result of the hurricane than on 9/11 as a result of terrorists.

As a result of the hurricane

On 9/11 as a result of terrorists.

Nothing I said was incorrect.

Now if you want to include the cancer, mesothelioma, etc, sure, then more people died as a result of 9/11 over the 17 years since it happened,

but I already pointed out in my original posts all the resulting deaths from the wars made 9/11 worse, so this was a completely irrelevant distinction and beside my point, which was giving Rock the benefit of doubt.

What political point? I would be just as fucking pissed if it was a Democrat was in the presidential office. I literally criticized the local government as well, which last I checked had a Democrat as governor. I criticized the so-called liberal media for its incredible lack of coverage of their conditions.

This was a failure as a country, at no point during any of my posts did I ever make it a partisan issue. It is a shameful and disgusting response by us as a whole, that's far beyond parties.
