I can see arguments that the Switch is the best current console, but PC will always win. It always has.

The only time the PC was behind was during the NES and early SNES days where the best PC games were like Duke Nukem 1, and Corncob 3D or Scorched Earth. Once Diablo 1 came out consoles were done.

Get community patches for games that developers can't/won't fix

Steam Sales
Indie games (which sometimes eventually make their way to consoles in rare cases)

Seriously I played consoles exclusively for the first 24 years of my life and as soon as I got a PC everything became clear. It's just better.

PC's have a library massively larger than a Switch, PS4 or any blah blah blah. Backwards compatibility can be all kinds of wack for some PC ports, but the point still stands.

I'm a big Nintendo nerd and I don't really like playing games on PC, but this is just patently false. PC has like 30 years of games on it (well, more than that, but not much worth caring about that far back). Obviously getting older stuff to work is tricky nowadays but regardless, the library is way bigger either way.

I don't really see what's outlandish about that, even the biggest Nintendo haters generally agree that they have the best exclusives, and you can get most of the big 3rd-party stuff on PC

The Wii and the U had great exclusives but very, very few of them.

Nope, not even close. It was better before and useless now. Discs cost less don't forget. Nobody likes to be held hostage with fake digital games at full price. You know the rest of my reasons why, they still stand true.

Which is why they functioned best as secondary systems. PC covers all the multiplat stuff, and does it better than any console option, making it the best choice for a primary system. All you're missing out on then are PS/Xbox exclusive titles. You could probably make a case for the PS3 being a serious competitor there, but not the PS4, 360, or Xbone just yet (and with most of Xbone's pittance of an exclusive library coming to PC as well, that's not likely to improve).

There are enough games out there that you really don't need a lot of games for your secondary system. Might as well go with quality over quantity, then.

As a secondary system, yes. As a primary (or only) system, missing out on so many multiplats does mean you're stuck with a relatively small library, so it's not ideal.

Discs need to sell to make room for new content, so stores offer sales. There's no such push with digital so games remain at full price for years. Then you consider that a disc comes with a case and maybe some paperwork, digital doesn't. Why do they both cost the same at launch?

If you're talking about getting a specific game that's available on both, then sure, sometimes physical is cheaper/better value.

If you're just talking about getting any game in general, digital is way cheaper and it's not even close.

Untrue. Discs drop in price all the time, not just holidays or events. Digital rots for a long time before anyone remembers the price should be lowered. And of course as soon as Steam decides it no longer wants to work online you lose access to it all anyway.

Yeah, mobile also has games I can't find physically but I'd have to be deranged to want to play all those match 3's. If it's worth playing it'll find it's way onto a better platform. There's really nothing going for Steam.

Switch = PC > PS4 > Xbox

PC is probably my least favorite system. I mean, I like it and certain games on it, but I've never been that big on mouse and keyboard controls. I can use them, but they are not my favorite. Also, Nintendo has been doing well getting more multiplat games and indie(which they call Nindies) games. It's probably my favorite of the systems. I almost only use the computer for games I can't get on other systems, for the most part. Or if it's easier to get there. I do like steam, though.

I think the PS3 had a much better library of exclusives than the Wii. And even though the Wii U had a better start than the PS4, the latter has built up a good number of exclusives in the last few years. I think it might depend on what you play and like. PS4 had some great exclusives. But if someone didn't like those exclusives, but like the Nintendo exclusives, then one of those might be the best combo. But that basically means that the best combo would be different for each individual...

I do know that. But then I could just get it on another system that uses a controller. Also, I do have a controller I use specifically for gaming on steam and whatnot. But that alone isn't the only reason it's my least favorite. Just one of the reasons...

honestly, it should be.

Smash bros, at least for me, is probably gona be amazing, and is worth the purchase of the switch (assuming it's at least as good as smash four).

A lot of the wii u games are getting ported/have been ported as well.

Plus, the switch has more than a handful of 1st party games (they kinda have a lot, imo).

if you're not into those games, that's cool. I personally think the switch has better exclusives than the ps4 and xone. I have a ps4, and the exclusives i like are spiderman, bloodborne, dragons crown, KH final remix, and maybe a few more).
