You say there's plenty of room for experimentation with food, but also have to recognize when something works. But you also can't say something doesn't work just because you don't like it. All that means is you don't like it. But there are a bunch of sweet/savory combos that people love. Especially Hawaiian Pizza. TBH, I don't even hear may of the people that ate Hawaiian say that hate it because of the taste. A lot of them seem to have never tasted it and says it's bad for the sole purpose of having a fruit on pizza. When a fruit is a big part of pizza in the first place for most. In the end, I don't think it's you like it on pizza just because you like it. If that were true, I'd be putting all kinds of weird stuff on pizza that didn't make since. Or didn't taste good just because I liked it. And a lot of those would go well with pizza.
