If you want to beat Mechathun with Shudderwock, just put King Mukla into your deck (and save it for the turn when they're about to go off). They'll have no creatures left and be forced to use bananas on your creatures. >_>

Know what's funny? People actually did this when mechathun was very popular. I mean they then realized they should not play shudderwock during that time soon after though.

Random question, I just started playing a malygos rogue deck, and last night I got extremely boned by this warlock card that turns a random creature in each hand into a demon. It got my kobold illusionist, but I still had malygos, I threw it out and fell maybe one spell short of a win anyway. Is there a particular way anyone would advise playing that matchup? Do you want to hold onto a minstrel against a warlock, or will they always wait to play the card until you play yours? Do you hold onto the coin the whole game so that if the illusionist gets hit, you can use DK Valeera's ability to throw down malygos, double coin, and throw out enough spells with the help of preparation?

This was even warlock, btw. Is that demon transformation card pretty much always going to be in warlock decks or was it more of a niche deck I ran to?

That Demon Transformation transformation card is basically never seen anymore. Control Warlock sometimes runs it as a one-of. I have absolutely never seen it in Evenlock.

I see what you did there. And it was glorious.

This is the first time I've actually had time to sit down and watch HCT. Pretty cool. You can see the pressure get to the players sometimes, but a lot of their strategizing is on display as well.

I'm seeing a lot more Tesspionage decks being played. Are these people all just big Kibler fans, or is the deck really good? I like the deck quite a bit myself, but I always thought it was more fun than good.

Hope saiyan gets to the semifinals. I don't need the packs but it would feel nice after all of these choose your champion events if I finally chose someone that got a pack amount on the higher side of the spectrum. Eventually I have to rng my way into a good selection.

Well, I was cheering for the Canadian (languagehacker) and he won, so that's cool.

Think I picked Saiyan on my prediction card though.

Also, one thing I would keep an eye on if the competitive scene works anything like MtG is the teams, and yeah, Tempostorm getting two players qualified for Blizzcon when they have what...5-6 serious constructed players? Yeah, definitely shows that they have a strong team.

Card games it's hard for one player to consistently win every time, but teams can consistently have strong showings.

Looking at their team page, I'd say four at most. Won't pretend I really keep up with tournament play that much, though, so I could easily be wrong.

Each team in Hearthstone technically has 3 players that count towards the new team standings that Blizzard introduced this year.

Tempo Storm has Muzzy, Saiyan, and Amnesiac, so 2/3 of their players are going to be at Worlds.

There are other Hearthstone players that play for the organization, such as Gaara and Eloise, but they generally don't compete in tournaments unless they're local. They also don't count towards the team standings.

There are people who believe there is too much RNG. But even those people know that skill also exists.

I mean, hearthstone is on a popularity decline yes.

Being not skill based does not cause a game to die, though. Last I checked Candy Crush still has way more players than Hearthstone (and is a far more RNG far less skill based game). Last I checked Starcraft 2 still has way less players than hearstone (and is a far more skill based game with almost zero RNG).
