She is a terrible cook, so I do all the cooking.

She is also one of those types who subsist solely on meat and potatoes. She will rarely touch fruit, let alone vegetables.

If I'm making spaghetti, I'll pure a bunch of carrots and bell peppers into the sauce. I do something similar when I make chili. And she never suspects a thing.

Is it wrong that I'm secretly making foods healthier for her?

I don't think so, Tim.

No, but it's wrong that you're reposting copypasta as if it was your own.

Depending of the cuisine, potatoes are considered vegetables.

They are at best a culinary vegetable. But its a starch with limited nutrional value compared to actual veggies.

I have a vegetable powder (LIVfit Superfood Blend) that I add to my cookies. It doesn't really taste like anything, so you'd never realize there are peas, carrots, beets, spinach, tomato, broccoli, etc in my chocolate chip cookies. I also use Kodiak Power Cakes flapjack mix instead of flour, it's made with whole grain wheat and oat flour and has extra protein. (Both of these are available at Costco.) And I replace half the chocolate chips with dried cranberries (craisins); the change is barely noticable. These cookies are almost good for you! Or would be if they didn't contain an entire cup of butter.

Here's the recipe:

2 cups Kodiak Buttermilk Power Cakes flapjack mix
cup LIVfit Superfood Blend powder
1 cup butter, softened
cup sugar
cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup craisins

Mix together the flapjack mix & superfood blend. In a separate bowl, cream the sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract and butter. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then slowly add in the powder mix. Stir in the chips & craisins.

Drop by the tablespoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet & bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes.

Allow to cool for 2 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.

You can try replacing the white sugar with cup of agave syrup and slightly increasing the flapjack mix; this will make a moister cookie that stays soft longer and reduces the glycemic index slightly, but you'll never achieve a crisp cookie.

Don't try to replace the butter with margarine, that was an unmitigated disaster.

"Culinary vegetable" isn't a thing. The botanical/culinary distinction only applies to fruits, since "fruit" does have a botanical definition. "Vegetable" does not, and is strictly a culinary term. Furthermore, potatoes are highly nutritious, to the point where it's actually possible to live off of nothing but them. Peeling them, boiling all of the nutrients out of them, and slathering them in salt and butter take away from that, but that doesn't mean potatoes can't provide significant nutritive value.

It most certainly is. It differentiates between the definitions of culinary, botanical, and legal.

For example, a tomato is a culinary vegetable even though its technically a botanical berry.

Nope, tomato is a legal vegetable, it is a tax thing.
