Then opinion on GoWIII slightly soured over time, and the rapid releases of Ghost of Sparta and Ascension severely weakened it through franchise fatigue. Then the most recent GoW came out and is probably the best and most popular the franchise has ever been. Easily GameFAQs's GotY so far (though Smash will slay it).
