Had played like 3 hours a while ago and thought it was good. Play like 7 hours ago and think the game is the best 2d Metroidvania I've ever played. Enemy and environmental variety is incredible, the charm system is awesome, and the boss fights are on another level. Best part? The game is completely nonlinear I believe. Those first 3 hours were relatively linear but after that and you get some geo I think quite literally you may be able to go anywhere. It will be fun when I finish the game to see what route most people take. Pretty sure I powered through an area or two I was underpowered for.

yeah, the first couple of hours are pretty slow and had me doubting the game a little bit but as soon as you get to, around the 3rd area (and especially a bit after that) it picks up and becomes really beautiful

I picked it up on humble bundle a couple of weeks ago. It's great

I had avoided it because I thought it was just a dark souls clone. I mean, it is a direct metroid/souls hybrid, but it's really, really well executed and has a charming art style
