Poll of the Day > Possible final roster for Smash Bros. Ultimate has leaked.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, an supposed employee of a french company working on promotional material for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sent pictures of the final roster mural over Snapchat. People subsequently stitched everything together, and the final roster has some crazy unannounced additions.

Ken (Street Fighter)
Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedgehog)
Chorus Kid (Rhythm Heaven)
Isaac (Golden Sun)
Mach Rider (Mach Rider)
Geno (Super Mario RPG)
Banjo and Kazooie (Banjo-Kazooie)

Bringing the total roster count to 77. Personally I was only expecting Ken and Incineroar(so glad he's not included in this leak) left, so I really hope this thing is real. And honestly, this thing looks totally legit, and given some other information, like the name of the employee and company attached to the photos, promotional material for The Grinch of all things included with the pictures, nobody can find any of these renders anywhere else online, and a leak from about a month ago listing all of these characters, I'm inclined to say this is the final roster. Somebody would have to go through a LOT of effort to fake this.

man, there hasnt been a single new character im actually interested in trying out. Smash 4.5 is looking like a pass for me, considering it will be $60 from the time it launches till the end of time and I also dont own a switch yet

Crash might still end up as DLC, but I know what you mean. I don't know, me, personally, I'm very happy with the inclusions of Simon, Ridley and K. Rool. And if this thing is real, I'll be so so happy with Banjo.

I really hope Sakurai goes and cuts all the legacy picks for the next game, now that we have "everyone is here" out of the way.

Among others, Pokemon could use a more diverse lineup than what it has.

Yeah I don't expect them to do another game with a roster this large ever again. They had to build so many old, and new characters from scratch, plus there are 103-108 stages, most of them they had to rebuild from scratch. This game is fucking enormous. And I can't find this, but I've heard that apparently Sakurai siad, if he makes another Smash, it would be a reboot with a small roster.

That was actually a quote he said about this game. He said he was either going to make a game with mostly old content, or cut half the roster and start from scratch.

One of the biggest arguments against this current leak is it's actually way more new characters than anyone previously expected.

Halo has enough alien weapons that he'd fit pretty easily. Probably much better than Doomslayer, who also has a bit of a fanbase. I can't imagine he'll be using the human weapons though.

I would expect Steve/Alex long before Master Chief if there was going to be a(nother) Microsoft character. I mean, Minecraft is already on Nintendo platforms so I don't think it would be much of an issue with licensing, especially if it's true they got Banjo. It's also more family-friendly and way more popular than Halo. Nobody actually gives a shit about Halo anymore, Master Chief in Smash is just like a more extreme version of the Ridley meme

I think from Microsoft's perspective it makes more sense because they want to advertise their own properties.

Like I imagine if there was ever such a discussion, Nintendo would want to add Banjo or Steve to Smash, but Microsoft would want to add Master Chief or a Forza stage. So I either see them compromising or no Microsoft representation at all.

Don't put the thought of Minecraft Steve in Smash in my head. Also the series already has Snake, several FE characters, Ridley and other characters from not family friendly games so I think that's kind of out the window at this point. Sure, probably no ultra-violent game characters would get in like Scorpion or Doomslayer.

Yeah it probably will be Banjo if there is a MS rep, but it would feel weird and kind of, not right? I mean MS hasn't really touched the series and shows no desire to so it wouldn't really be a fit, I also don't think people care about Banjo that much anymore.

A, B, D, F and G are all terrible evidence, no idea why he bothered to mention those because the E3 screen was in motion. C I don't know what the hell he's talking about, the water clearly met some land. It doesn't "curve up" However, the missing ruins, and the different crystals, that's what has me on the fence now.

This might be the most elaborate fake in Smash history.

Edit: Then again, there's no reason they couldn't change background details in 4-5 months since, either.

IIRC when Smash 4 leaked there were some differences between the leak and previously seen versions of the game.

It doesn't really mean much.

Chances are SmUsh has or will leak sometime soon, it's just hard to spot a real one among all the fakes, especially when the real one won't necessarily even look real.
