Manga creator Takuma Yokota posted on his Twitter account on Thursday that he will launch the Subete no Jinsei wo Hakai Suru. Sorera wa Saisei Dekinai. (Destroy All Humans. They Can't Be Regenerated.) manga in the January issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Shnen Ace magazine on November 26. Katsura Ise is credited with the original work, and Wizards of the Coast LLC. is credited with cooperation.

The "youth graffiti" manga centers on two people in the 1990s who play the Magic the Gathering trading card game. Yokota and Ise previously published a one-shot version of the manga in Monthly Shnen Ace in its October issue on August 25.

That's pretty neat. Also, the title of the manga is a reference to the effect text of card "Wrath Of God", which was a card from the original alpha set of the real life TCG.

I wonder if they'll have card duels in motorcycles.

It should be a requirement to have all duels on motorcycles.

This is an ongoing effort for MtG to try to break through to the Japanese market. Sadly, it's difficult to break through a market obsessed with the likes of Yugioh and Vanguard and a billion other card games. Fucking Bushiroad has like 5+ series of their own though at this point it's like a revolving door with Vanguard, Buddyfight, and Weiss Schwartz being like the 3 that they'll probably run for a long time. Dragonball has their own, Fire Emblem has their own, of course can't ever forget Pokemon, probably technically the biggest TCG scene in Japan, though I dunno the exact numbers or know where one might find such numbers. Just the sheer amount of Pokemon TCG stuff they pump out every few months is ridiculous though.

MtG on the other hand has recently done a big collab with Puzzle & Dragons, still somehow lingering in the top 5 grossing Japanese mobile games in Japan for after 6+ years of existence. They've been trying to make a game that could match the likes of Duel Links in terms of virtual card games, and now this. You do need like a different source of media attached to a card game to really work in Japan so it's probably the right step.

If they made it like the first few seasons of Vanguard where it's just a bunch of kids collecting, trading, and dueling with the cards and make a team amongst skilled friends to compete in leagues, it'll probably be received well. But Vanguard knew they couldn't sustain an entire series with just that kind of premise and went all Yugioh, though I still think Link Joker arc, a very good YGO-esque arc where the fate of the world is at stake, is their best arc and so do many others, so MtG manga will probably have to more or less deviate towards the same direction the longer it goes

At least make it like that one MtG game where you beat a guy with 300 life or whatever though, cuz that's a fun idea
