Been contemplating owning one.

Is it worth it? And if so, what are some good games for it?

So... This is a hard one to give an opinion on, I think. I bought one for my SO and she doesn't play it much. She has Zelda and Mario. I've played Xenoblades. Its okay, but so far it hasn't shown me its going to be anything more than WiiU 2.0 as far as interesting games that haven't already been released on another form of media. There is two pokemon lite games coming out and maybe a main pokemon in the future. Also I think metroid prime got teased? Special edition Switches are coming out though which I think is kinda rare for Nintendo in America so maybe wait for one that you like?

Not really. I saved $80 on a new one about a year ago and have put in maybe 30-40 hours of play time. I don't regret it because of the savings, as it'll get better. There aren't enough games unless you love indies.

I adore it. The ability to play stuff handheld or big screen with as much INSANE convenience as it has is godly.

I would say yes, especially if you didn't have a Wii U.

It really depends on whether or not you've already played the games that have released on it or want to play then again on the go, because there are quite a few ports.

It's biggest weakness right now is no virtual console, because being able to play old Nintendo games on the go and on the TV would be sweet.

Zelda BotW and Mario Odyssey are both really good, I wish Odyssey had more content/had a sequel, BotW is bliss but probably little replay value

When Smash Ultimate comes it will be the greatest thing of all time and the greatest thing for all time if the leak is true

Loving it. Been playing Binding of Isaac constantly the past week

I don't have one, but yes if you like grand Mario games and other Nintendo exclusives. I wish I had got one instead of buying my sister a Wii U (I thought she would like that better and there weren't as many titles then)

The main appeal of the Switch is the Nintendo exclusives and the ability to play multi-platform games (from smaller games like Sonic Mania to some AAA titles like Doom and Skyrim) on a portable system without the game being badly gimped compared to the XB1/PS4 versions. I've heard of people buying some games on the Switch as well as the XB1/PS4 so they have the best of both worlds: the XB1/PS4 versions for graphics/power and the Switch version for portability.

If you don't plan on using the Switch in portable mode very often, and if the Nintendo exclusives aren't appealing enough to you, then it's not worth the buy. But if either (or especially both) of those things are appealing to you, then the Switch is absolutely worth the money.

Its only has Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild. Smash is almost out so thats good, but overall theres not a lot of interesting games on it

Its lacking in exclusive content but the portability goes a long way in a house where you dont want to hog the TV.

Indie titles are fantastic on it and while people are quick to complain about ports, a lot of games you wouldnt think would work on a portable console feel right at home here.

Online is probably the biggest flaw imo. Nintendo is just really behind with online features. I mean yeah, its cheaper than PSN and XBL, but youre really not getting a whole lot here. Everyone and their mothers think adding a more robust library of classic games would help the streaming service they have going (or just bringing back the Virtual Console) but this is Nintendo were talking about. >_>

All in all, I think the Switch has potential. It can offer a fairly meaty gaming experience on the go which is absolutely lovely. I would just like to see a more worthwhile online and a bit more on the 3rd party side. Dark Souls, Diablo, and Skyrim are a start, but the Switch is going to need a bit more of a push.

Considering picking up Dark Sould Remastered, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Splatoon 2, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2, and some eshop games.

Looking forward to Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Shin Megami Tensei 5, and Diablo 3: Eternal Collection. Maybe Tales if Vesperia if I don't get it on PS4.

It's a fantastic handheld.

But in terms of a home console it's a little more dubious. Especially with games running 4K these days and the next gen of PS and Xbox on the horizon.

I, personally, have played hundreds of hours on my Switch.
