It still has the most active users of any MOBA, yes, but I have to imagine the rise of Fortnite has been brutal for its playerbase total. Whereas Dota has held on much stronger.

It is. Though it has fallen somewhat. Looking at the Twitch website League of Legends only has less spectators than Overwatch, Fallout 76 and the previously mentioned Fortnite. Which is still very good, mind you. However it used to be the most watched game of all by a good amount back in the day.

Draven didn't win a contest, it was more a hostile takeover by Reddit. Hadn't the legions of trolls appeared, he'd would've been soundly beaten by Chie and Jak, who unlike Ammy are clear fodder. Him getting slaughtered is both hilarious and karmic.

The Lol subreddit is actually almost 2 times larger than it was back then in active users so it was lucky the banned rallies. Because they could have pulled a rally even stronger than last time if they wanted.
League itself might have fallen a bit, but the subreddit is stronger than ever.

@Safer_777 Yeah, top of the rules list, that's pretty wild. I think I was really busy during that Character Battle so I wasn't really paying attention to it. Just saw Draven had won and was like- "wtf? I guess LoL was more popular than I thought."

Had no idea vote brigading/ reddit nonsense was going on.

@Eddie___Dean Yeah the problem back then was that these guys from Reddit were coming here, making accounts here and making trolling topics and posts. This is why we didn't like this thing back then. When Undertale won almost nothing happened. It's fans were polite most of the time and things were generallly polite. But man these Reddit users!
