I still don't understand this vomit pile you call an electoral system.

There is an electoral college...distributed by population.

There is a house of representatives...distributed by population.

There is a senate...distributed evenly among all states.

How does anything ever get done?

It doesn't. This is why the American system needs to be redone into a parliamentary system that cannot be gerrymandered.

Well, the idea is that both sides are supposed to work together and compromise to get things passed. But now they rather just stone wall each other and do nothing

Why? Is it better if one party controls everything? I say no regardless which party it may be

Just because you do not understand that the US is a federation of semi-sovereign states does not mean that elections and representation systems are poorly designed.

Well the electoral college has no power outside of elections for starters. I'm still trying to figure out the UK's House of Lords.

That might be relevant if that were still true. We haven't been a federation of semi-sovereign states since the end of the Civil War. Which is good because a federation of semi-sovereign states is a piss poor system.

How do people not understand the system? It's only fault is the bizarre way the House is set up (districts that are easily gerrymandered).

That much I agree with. House elections should at least be handled like parliamentary elections rather than the current mess of voting by district.

Yeah it's fucked. But one represents a much larger voting base. A voter base that also tends to vote more than others.

There was no doubt. The House was always the goal. Really dems were just hoping to get rid of Ted Cruz, that would have been a bonus. Didn't happen.
