Claiming a guy is bigoted or sexist for killing characters in a video game is reasonable now?

Depends why they kill the character. The game itself isn't necessarily flawed for allowing it, especially when it's an open-world game like RDR that allows you to kill just about anyone, but if he singled out the character to kill because she was a feminist, that is a pretty sexist, messed-up thing to do. That's also not a criticism of the game, but rather a criticism of one of its players. You can very easily criticize a player of a game without playing the game, because that criticism will be based on things that have nothing to do with the game.

And again, this specific instance is not what I'm talking about. You are inappropriately making absolute blanket statements. That you can find examples of people unreasonably criticizing games doesn't change that, it just means you have a rudimentary awareness of what the general public says about games sometimes.

I'd like to say that when I play video games I tend to get into a role. One that has little to no bearing how I feel in real life. With John in the first game he struck me as a genuine good guy who just had a take no shit mentality. So I played him as such. If you give me a evil or morally corrupt character I'll play them as such. Perfect example is gta v. I was given 3 characters and I played them all differently. With Michale I was more prone to pick up prostitutes with Trevor I was more prone to complete random acts of violence. Franklin was kind of middle of the road but the least prone to getting into a fight for me.

With that said if a game doesn't specifically tell me how they feel about a particular issue or type of people I feel in the blanks myself based on the rest of their personality.

And that's something that people aren't necessarily going to understand without context, or their own experience with video game role-playing. One's actions within that role can still be cause for raised eyebrows, but not necessarily.

Games are art, they're allowed to be criticized by any person, by any perspective, for any reason. That's one of the major things about art.

You can disagree with the criticism itself, and that's fine. But they're allowed to make it.

A game is entertainment. Like music, movies. Its a hobby. Art is paintings. Its freedom of expression. Just because someone's life is miserable and boring, they in general have to be insanely unhappy with themself if they go to a sewing club just to cram their stupid political belief.

Btw, i bought Wolfenstein 2... pretty solid game, not played it all the way but looks good. See. I can appreciate a good game. But i am not planning on playing it yet due to Final Fantasy games, FF4 at the moment. When getting it done first Wolfenstein 1 since i never played it, then this one. Usually how i play games, must play the first one usually for me, not always but its kind of nice to see, since Wolfenstein 1 looks pretty good for its time.

You're comparing the consumption of art to its creation. Making movies, music, games, or paintings is creating art. Watching movies, listening to music, playing games, or looking at paintings are consuming art for entertainment. Both creating and consuming art can be taken to such an extent as to be considered a hobby.

Point is taking liberals or conservatives seriously when getting butthurt of entertainment is funny. Since its open room for everyone to take part if they wanna make stuff within the entertainment industry. Like it really is their way of saying, i am miserable and you should be too. Since people who in general complain dont even play it, or know anything about it "or that is usually the case"

For example. If you wanna have political meaning in video games.. First of. The first thing is the game needs to be fun. If it can be that, then you can do whatever you want to. Metal Gear Solid for example, fun games, so if you wanna add some viewpoints in it. No prob. But if a game completely fails in being good. Then yeah its pretty much just terrible objectively more or less. Just in terms of my opinion on it etc. So as a whole, it just is a hobby and not a playground for uncreative people who dont have interest in it in the first place

Exactly. Like I'm the least violent or angry person in the world in real life but when I'm playing Trevor in GTA V, I'll hunt down anyone who even slightly upsets me for any reason. I'm about 40 percent less violent with any other character.

So democrats is against violence in video games, and republicans are against wimps.

Just joking. But there has been jokes on nintendo soyboys on internet which i find funny. Like i used to like nintendo with wii and before that. But with WiiU i skipped, and Nintendo Switch have officially turned me off nintendo for awhile seeing how many hipsters owned it have just stopped for me. Which is why i will support Xbox or Playstation in the future due to that, now currently i am happy with PS4 Pro. Like thing with Nintendo is the main focus is mostly family friendly games, but with Playstation or Xbox, its games for everyone, adult or child. I just prefer variety rather than all this cozy stuff over and over again

Have you looked at the Switch library? It's a lot less family oriented than the Wii or Wii U. Actually, in that regard Sony has been much more rampant lately about things like censorship and such than Nintendo is.

That is itself an extremely hipsterish thing to do. You're being hipster about hipsterdom. Counter-counterculture.

I was gonna mention that too. Avoiding a console because of what kind of people have it doesn't make sense.

SONY usually have open flows of different games is why i like it. Like you wont see Agents of Mayhem on Switch. But its just people who generally own it that kind of is what turned me off Switch. I just laugh whenever someone mentions Switch now when someone is gonna get it "never heard someone i know saying they are though, most i know have PS4". I mean i dont mock them... but it just to me is something i cant take seriously. I am not anti Nintendo but really not feeling the Switch

North America i suppose. No surprise they take their time to change something that was not in the original. It may aswell say, if the game looks, seems bad because certain groups exists who plays them. Dont blame us, you havent played it. We are not responsible for not promoting games that appeals to certain people, so you have to buy games. Especially Kirby games made for little children but is praised by manboys who play it.

That would be me : 3

Modern Nintendo systems have always been for more casual gamers. I would buy a Switch if I could afford it just for Smash Brothers Ultimate.
