Last screen I broke was on a black & white Philips Nino 300 PDA, which broke around 2001-ish. I had it in my pocket in a leather case when I leaned against the corner of a desk. I heard a *tink* and that was it. I used hard cases for my Casio Cassiopeia E-125, Dell Axim X51v and Sprint Mogul (HTC Titan), but then starting with the HTC Evo 4G I switched to leather belt cases rather than carrying devices in my pocket. Haven't broken a screen yet.

I've only cracked a screen twice, and both times the phone was also rendered unusable.

I couldn't just live with cracks in my screen; I don't know how people do it.

I have a crack in the corner but it's small. It's so rare it happens. I drop my phone a bit so it gets beat up, but stays extremely useable.

I think I can say that now with my phone, I regularly drop it pretty spectacularly. The trade-off seems to be a more scratch prone material.

they fall.

these days, with phones having glass to edge, and pretty much no bezel for a buffer, coupled with them being extremely thin, means a fall on a corner is going to destroy the screen.

I think I've dropped my phone like three times in the last 25 years.

I have a phone with a line right down the screen. It's not a big deal as you can't see it when the phones in use. It was my bros old phone and he had the screen replaced because he dropped it. He's always got his face in his phone so not a surprise.

I've only had a smartphone since February but with the case on it, it has survived quite a few drops. The screen protector is cracked here and there, but that's not a big deal.

Only time I cracked a screen was when my Vita fell behind the bed. That sucked a little. Sent for repairs and hope it doesn't happen again.

The only time I've ever cracked a screen was when I put a sword through a Game Boy Pocket. My current phone is five and a half years old. It's on its second battery and second camera CCD, but otherwise fine. I treat it like it's worth the seven hundred dollars it cost when it was new, even if I didn't pay that much due to subsidies.

First of all. Chicks with tiny back pockets and a huge phone sticking out. Center of mass basically pulls phones out of pockets. Second of all, dudes wearing chicks pants. See above. I think the pants and fashion industry are conspiring with phone makers.

Dropped my last phone (Galaxy S5) like a foot off the ground by accident. Shattered the screen so bad but I couldnt afford a new one so I kept my broken ass phone for another year or so before I was eligible for an upgrade. Glass screens break so easily, even when youre really careful.

I have a cheap ass phone and have dropped it numerous times on hard surfaces like concrete, only ever gotten nicks on the side.

My current s7 edge has a hair line crack across the middle from a 1 foot drop. Has a otter box case as well. This happened like a month ago, I had the phone for near 2 years now. Was doing so well.. almost a mint phone when my 2 year contract was up lol.

I don't think I have ever cracked a screen on any device. Is it that hard to not drop it on a hard surface or smash it with a hammer?

Most people use their phones many times a day for a year or two. It's pretty hard not to have one minor slip of the hand in two years time and that's all it takes
