It's a four vs one game the four are survivors the one is a killer, the survivors have some ass backwards sense of how the killer should play so if you don't follow their made up rules you're scum

Reminds me of GunZ: The Duel. People would use a physics glitch to fly around the map while I would just run around shooting them. Non-stop rage in the chat and sometimes I'd be kicked from the server.

Oh nothing major just hit them with the hillbilly's chainsaw quick into the match and used an item to let me insta kill instead of putting them on the hook

I can see people bitching at other survivors for not working together, but thats dumb to hate on the killer when youre using stuff in the game and not glitching/cheating.

This. I've gotten tons of hate messages playing halo. It's like people dont realize they're just setting you up for the spike when they get mad at you for kicking their ass.

I got hate mail for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U lol

Not directly related but recall watching some videos of Starcraft II players failing Proton Cannons or Planetary Fortress rush and then begging the other player to not beat them and ruin their record.

Bahaaa, that was one of the weirdest things, I remember it well. According to the rules of some people in the Gunz community, it was considered cheating not to abuse glitches.

Gears of War had a slightly more understandable, but still unreasonably silly community rule that the Lancer was completely banned from play and you were generally encouraged to only use the shotgun. The Lancer is the gun you literally start the game equipped with: the game is designed around its use as your primary weapon. The stigma stemmed from the host of the game having a huge advantage with the Lancer due to the way the game handled lag, but the community considered it cheating even if you weren't the host.

I personally play MP games all the time and have rarely received hatemail, only time I can consistently get it is in fighting games.
