Sony alternating between decent and crap, until now. Microsoft being mostly just there. Nintendo deciding not to take E3 seriously, so their good announcements are rare for the event. Major developers or publshers spending ages talking about stuff we barely or hardly care about, while showing off only so many titles, half of which we barely hear about again until release (and only a fraction of those as something worth mentioning again). DarkKirby2500 11/15/18 5:11:59 PM #7:	It's not like publishers are fighting for spots, hosting an E3 show is expensive. If anyone else wanted to have an E3 show they'd do it already. EA's show is bascially for investors, not players. This year's E3 was a huge disaster for Sony, but that's their own fault. I don't know what is so difficult for these game companies to understand. People don't want stage gimmicks, or pushed political agendas. Remember that most people are watching a stream and having gimmicks for just the press who are there in person is not impressive to a large majority of your audience. Just show good games with game play one after the other. If your showing hardware show off the hardware's capabilities, and ensure you have pro consumer practices like no DRM. --- The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. I wouldn't necessarily say that their good announcements are rare, but the Direct format does mean they aren't at all reliant on E3 to show off their stuff. If E3 disappeared altogether, Nintendo's big summer reveal wouldn't change at all. That said, there's a whole lot more that goes on at E3 than just the press conferences. It looks like the event is simply swinging back around to being more about letting people enjoy stuff coming out in the future than to broadcast new titles. A bummer for the majority of people for sure, but those attending really aren't missing out on much.
