Multiple children were injured Monday after being attacked by a dog that became loose on the playground of an Oklahoma City elementary school, officials said.

The dog attack was reported at Fillmore Elementary School near South Blackwelder and Southwest 44th Street.

Fire officials said 28 children in 3rd and 4th grades and three teachers were in the playground when a dog, described as a brown and white pit bull, became loose and began attacking the children.

Officials with the school district said the dog made it into the hallway and was tackled by a teacher.

School officials said a total of 12 children suffered injuries, and that none of the injuries were critical. Five children were taken by ambulances to local hospitals, while seven were taken by their parents' personal vehicles.

The children suffered superficial dog bites and some escape injuries while they were running away, school officials said.

No teachers were injured, officials said. Police said they have the dog in custody.

I had a friend that did that to a dog he hated and I said he was an asshole for doing it, and then the dog broke its chain and came at us. We ran, but he was faster than us, but he passed by me and went straight for my friends butt. Bit right through the pants then ran back to its yard my friend went to the hospital for stitches.

I dont know if the dog was destroyed or not, but I told everyone that asked (doctors, police) how it was provoked by him apparently over time by my friend before only biting him once and not attacking me. My friend didnt like me after that for defending the dog so much.

you're on the right path. the owners. leaving a dog chained in the backyard will make the dog aggressive. not interacting with it in a friendly manner on a daily basis will make it aggressive. even constant abuse will make it aggressive. it's those fucking owners.

i've got a neighbor who had a similar issue. guy has a big dog, looks like a rottweiler, and the people renting the house next door spend months tormenting the animal any time it was outside. kicking the fence, screaming at it, crap like that. one day one of the dumb fucks leans over the fence to try to hit the dog, dog bit down hard on the asshole and wouldn't let go until the owner came out.

surprise, the dumbasses called the cops, claimed the dog was vicious. owner was smart though, had video taped dozens of instances where the assholes tormented his dog. even had the bite. guy kept his dog and the neighbors got ticketed for being assholes.
