HGs are better than most units. You need to max their skill and echelon but they're usually better than adding another smg/ar/rf/mg you name it

While I use HG's in most of my squads, 2smg/3ar is still the meta for a lowercost yet still strong echelon. I use it over a 5hg squad on easy missions since the clear times are faster.

For dolls, no. 100 is the max (150 if you oath them) and you get stat boosts at 90 and 140, but no bonuses beyond that. Collecting additional hearts is useless.

For Kalina... I've heard rumors that raising her affection even beyond the point of unlocking all 3 of her costumes makes her have a higher chance of giving better "daily gifts", but there's no evidence to suggest that it's anything more than a superstitious rumor. I still get her hearts every day just in case it's true, but it probably isn't

Hard to say. In addition to the heart collecting, store purchases also increase her affection and effect when the costumes unlock too. So who knows. I've gotten up to the one after the schoolgirl one.

Other than that, she's a rare AR drop in the factory. Best shot is 91/400/400/30

Girls Frontline doesn't really push you to microtransaction much at all. Which is great. About the only thing there is to really spend on is the costume events.

I know you want to get your favorites ASAP, but be careful not to try and use too many high-rarity dolls too early in the game. Each T-doll can be "dummy linked" for higher stats at levels 10, 30, 70, and 90. This can be done using dummy cores (you mostly get those from disassembling 3+ star dolls that you don't plan to use) or by using duplicates of the doll being linked. The cost to dummy link with cores goes up based on the doll's rarity (1 core for a 2*, 3 for a 3*, 9 for a 4*, and a whopping 15 for a 5*) and the links at 70 and 90 cost double and triple that of what the first two dummy links cost. Type 95 is a 5* T-doll, by the way.

My point is: if you try to use too many 4* and 5* dolls too early, you'll likely be left short on cores and unable to dummy link them when you need to. An un-linked 5* is significantly weaker than a 3* or even 2* that has been linked multiple times, and linked dolls also earn experience at a faster rate. It's okay to use a couple of high-rarity dolls early on, especially if you get lucky and pull some duplicates to use as dummy link fodder. But trying to build a whole team of them too early will put you in core hell very fast and make some story battles quite difficult if you can't link them. It's a common mistake that a lot of new players make.

That's honestly not too bad. 3 high-rarity dolls out of 10 is totally fine, and it helps that the ones you're using are relatively common for their rarities. 9A-91 and 416 can appear from any recipe that uses at least 800 total resources (which includes any of the optimized recipes besides the one specifically for HG's) and Thompson can appear from literally any recipe that can possibly be used. Chances are you'll get at least one duplicate of those by the time you're ready for the level 70 dummy link.

The level 30 link is usually the one where players fall into core hell from using too many high-rarity dolls, because there's plenty of time between 30 and 70 for you to stock up on cores. By then, you should be working on putting together a third team, and you'll likely be able to fit Type 95 in somewhere.

I'd have to see your formations to see if you can use your tile buffs better in some other combination, but right now, you're probably good. When you start putting together a third team and adding new members (like the AR team from the story, or your girl Type 95) you can start demoting your weaker ones to that third team.

Speaking of the AR team, DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THEM! DON'T DO IT! The AR team dolls (M4A1, M4 SOPMOD, AR-15, and M16A1) are all extremely useful, and they can only be obtained once. Despite all being 4* dolls and not being able to use duplicates to lessen core costs, I would recommend finding a place for at least two of them (likely M4A1 and either M4 or AR-15) in your main teams while you progress through the story. They're that damn good.

I've kept my AR Team on Logistics. As much as I like them, everyone uses them. It'd be boring if everyone used the same characters.

Besides M16A1 (who is reserved specifically for corpse dragging duty) all of my AR team members are usually on logistic duty these days as well. But M4A1, SOPMOD, and AR-15 were all absolutely critical parts of my teams while I was progressing through the tough parts of the story.

Holy crap 416 is a beast. I got her to level 10 and dummy linked her and now she consistently tops the damage charts by a large margin, even though everyone else in her team is like twice her level.

416 is above-average in terms of actual gun damage, but her grenades are insanely strong after you raise her skill level a bit. They're great for taking down bosses in daytime missions (where they'll never have armor) because they don't cover a lot of area, but their damage multiplier is just ridiculous.

Just grind. Raising the levels of their skills would probably help too if you haven't been doing that, but when in doubt, level your dolls more.

Click the "research" tab on the main game menu, and there's a "skill training" option. The data chips you use to pay for the training are obtained from the data combat simulation (which is open on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays) and sometimes given as daily rewards or rewards from events. Right now you'd use basic training chips.

The training also takes time (between an hour or two early on to an entire 24 hours for the final skill level) but save your limited number of quick training tickets for those very high skill levels.
