Black Friday sale, so I decided to finally see what all the fuss is about.

Sony Tv's are good right? I was gonna get Samsung but while googling online articles were saying that Sony TVs are better. It'll be my first ultra HD experience. Got a ps4 to match it, excited to see what games look like nowadays.

I've only ever had bad experiences with Sony TVs, but best of luck to you!

Just word of warning. Most TVs you have to choose between full quality or performance.

With everything on max everything is so smooth, even things that aren't 60fps

With game mode on, everything takes a small hit but still leagues better than my standard 1080p

If you have to ask...

But, PS4 can't do true 4k, so don't be surprised.

Got a bigscreen Sony LCD TV 10 years ago

had a dead pixel from day one, lighting engine kept dying over the years

by the time we got rid of it, the entire screen was green

I'm hoping since then they've improved. If anything happens under the first year I've got warranty coverage so it should be fine gods willing.

Yeah, this was a first-gen LCD from back in 2005

it just left a real bad taste for me for the brand ever since

What model did you get?

I think it's this one

https://www.amazon.com/Sony-XBR65X900E-65-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01MZF81NS

65 inches, has 4 HDMI ports, 3 USB ports including 3.0, and apparently even has Netflix on the actual TV so I might try out a subscription to see if those smart TVs are actually good or just gimmicky

I have this one currently:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A5LU5E4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_DM49Bb37HWG51

I think it's pretty comparable to yours. Smart features are useful. It does have a Netflix button on the remote that launches the app directly. Android TV is nice too since you just set up your Google account and your library is there, if you're at all invested in that ecosystem anyway. And the picture is fantastic.

most flagship 4k tvs by major brands are comparable. the only big standout is LG's OLED series.

it's not a huge upgrade. like obviously does look better and ps4 looks much better then my old tv but that was a 720p. but a lot of things don't have full 4k support yet.

i think next console gen is when it'll be more important to have a 4k TV.

You also got Sony huh, glad to see another. I was worried about getting buyers remorse since there were some other people that had bad experiences with Sony in the past so I was wondering if I should have gotten Samsung instead after all.

I need people with Sony TV sets to share their good experience with the brand.

I just bought the 900F from Sony, and so far I love it. I would say the only con is the somewhat laggy menu for settings and such, which was the same for my other Sony, but that is a minuscule complaint. The picture is fantastic. I usually stick exclusively with Sony TVs as I have never had an issue with them. As always, though, it depends on the model.

I kind of equate people's experiences with things like that to Android phones. A person buys a cheap budget Android, and their experience will be vastly different than someone who bought a Samsung flagship, for example.
