I feel like people should just ignore all Smash news if it really is somehow spoiling the game for them. Also, is it really that much of a spoiler for any of them? And how are they getting that info? Im guessing theyre buying and downloading the game early and somehow finding the info that way, maybe?

WHO CARES ABOUT SPOILERS IN AN ACE ATTORNEY GAME?!!

Given that they're extremely story-oriented games whose gameplay revolves almost entirely around figuring out where that story is going, I'd imagine most people.

That said, the "who cares about spoilers in a fighting game" thing does disregard the fact that many people prefer the surprise of encountering unlocks and the like while playing the game, rather than being told about them beforehand. It'd be unreasonable to expect people to mark spoilers for discussing official trailer material, especially in a discussion that's obviously about that (if somebody really wants to go in blind, it's their responsibility to avoid such discussions), but openly talking about something that's been datamined is potentially inconsiderate, depending on the nature of it (i.e. "this one music track sounds good" is not a spoiler, "the final boss of the story thing is a chicken made of lego" would be).

To my knowledge, the only characters that haven't been revealed yet are the DLC ones that are still in development, which I wouldn't expect to be in the game files.

Everyone has different values, interests, etc; but I do agree all the same. It's about the degree of it all.

I'm trying to avoid everything about it, because seeing what music tracks and Spirits are in is cool for me. I'll be disappointed if I come across anything I would have rathered discovered myself, but not to the point of being "strongly bothered."

Punish them by ruining it for them and then attacking their character.

i feel like melee was probably the last time unlocking stuff was actually fun and exciting. i sort of hate the internet for killing that.

Brawl was still pretty dope. Sakurai even hid the last 3 characters behind a big ass warning like "don't click this if you want surprises."

No, it's not. It does, however, spoil the minor surprise of finding it for yourself. Is it a big deal if it's spoiled? Obviously not. Anyone can tell you that. Does that mean people can't enjoy finding it for themselves if and only if they don't get spoiled? Also no.

As I said, it's unreasonable to expect people that are discussing leaked content who don't care about such minor spoilers to spoiler tag everything they say just in case somebody doesn't want it spoiled. Common sense dictates that anyone who would rather find such things for themselves should avoid discussions of the game for the next 3-4 weeks. But that doesn't mean they're unreasonable for enjoying the minor surprises. Just let people have fun, and if they complain about being spoiled by these leaks, suggest that they avoid these discussions rather than insulting them for enjoying things.

That's what I was saying. Avoid all Smash news if you're getting spoilers all over the place. If they keep going to the boards and getting spoiled, it's kind of their fault. Sure, I would saying either use spoilers tags, or label the topic spoilers so you don't have to use them. But even then, some people may talk about something they don't consider a spoiler, and you would. So, just avoid the boards and such if you want full surprises...
