I think it is. Just because the level of addiction isn't as severe as harder drugs doesn't mean it's not addictive.

I always find it funny that most people who claim pot isn't addictive are the ones that smoke it every chance they get.

I have nothing against potheads. I'm just saying.

This. Soo pretty much like everything else in existence. You ever eat a specific snack daily for weeks and then just cut it off before your desires for it end? Bet you crave it for a few days. That's basically what quitting weed for me is like. I quit once every 3 months and smoke for 2 of those months daily. First time I quit I had like 10 years with no off time. Now getting off my prescribed pain meds is a whole different battle.

I know a internet worth of people who are meaning to start working out and not lasting a week doing it. People are weak minded and lazy. That has nothing to do with smoking pot specifically

I agree. You get in the routine of working out, you get in the routine of not smoking weed. I just started doing both again recently lol. Not not smoking weed. Smoking weed as well as working out.

It really matters who you are. If you're someone who complains a lot ablut stuff than you'll make it seem addictive when you bitch about not being able to smoke. If you're someone like me you just silently fight temptation for a few days until your new normal sets in.

Btw, smoking became legal here this month. I still have to drop every 3 months tho for my medication. It's lame

You can become addicted to literally anything in a mental capacity.

Chemically, however, no, marijuana is not addictive.

It is not an addictive substance - this is not a point for debate, scientists have analysed the effects of the chemicals and the brain does not form an addiction to them.

ANYTHING pleasurable can become habit forming/mentally addictive, though - because you can get addicted to the rush of dopamine in your brain. See: gambling addictions.

It's about as addictive as :
Fried chicken
Video games
Listening to music or anything else that gives you pleasure.
You need to change your brain chemistry for physical addiction like with
Tobacco
Opium (all forms)
Amphetamines
Alcohol
Lots of pharmaceutical drugs like Xanax
Hell sugar is addictive cause your body will stop producing insulin .

Yes, but you're not addicted *to* the chicken. Chicken does not contain chemicals that are physically addictive. People with food addictions have become addicted to the release of dopamine in their brain when they get pleasure from eating.

It's more accurate to say you cannot develop a dependency on food (I mean beyond what you need to live). That's a bit different from saying it's not addictive.

That's still not what people refer to as physical dependency. Again, most things in life will have some effect on your brain. That's how brains work. You're not gonna suddenly have hot flashes or stuff like restless leg syndrome when you quit. You get physically sick from quitting actual physically addictive drugs. What are you not getting...

huh?

Ok I think I'm missing a trick, probably because I made the mistake of assuming the content of the video without watching it.

I assumed Joe Rogan, being the massive stoner pseudo intellectual that he is, would be arguing on the side of "nah man weed isn't addictive it's been proven by science". Is that not the case?

Yeah, I can't really read it now either. Made sense when I typed it. I meant the amount of weed you smoke doesn't give you more or less of a right to talk about. Some people get as high off 3 hits as the next guy does off an entire joint. Dude actually knows less about weed if he doesn't realize how much it varies person to person
