Because until it is born a fetus is dependent on and inside of a woman's body. You cannot force someone to make a decision about their own body. You cannot force someone to give blood, you cannot force someone to donate an organ. And you cannot force someone to carry a baby for 9 months if they are not willing to do so. It's a basic right to one's own bodily autonomy.

Makes it all the more hypocritical considering a lot of these same conservatives spent 8 years under Obama screeching about how they needed small government that stayed out of peoples lives

I think its totally understandable to be against abortions. The solution is to not get one if thats how you feel.

There's been so many great articles and opinion pieces since Trump's election pointing out the brazen and disgusting hypocrisy of the religious right. Not just for REEEEing for small government but pushing these abortion restrictions to take away womens' most basic rights over their own bodies, but also for all the personal moral controversies Trump's been involved in that they overlook to overwhelmingly support him anyway because he's willing to push their agenda.

These charlatans need to be confronted loudly and persistently every time they try to open up their mouths to squawk about morals.

It's 6 weeks. That means two weeks late for a period. Not an uncommon occurrence from what I understand.

Yeah. But its still possible to not know. Sometimes, light bleeding will still occur during pregnancy. While it shouldnt be confused with a period, it can easily be confused with one because it usually happens around the time a period would happen. Some women also dont show for a while. And some dont get as sick. For the ones that do get sick, it might be seen as normal during certain parts of the year. Especially if a bug has be going around. Most symptoms can be attributed to something else. And not all women get all the symptoms. Or even notice them. So, it depends on the person. Even if they eventually find out theyre pregnant, it can easily be after two months before they find out... Even on that show I mentioned, the people dont seem like complete morons. It just ended up that way. Most people would probably figure it out, but maybe after a few months. Especially depending on the circumstances...

You must have declined to read the part where I explained it's a matter of personal autonomy. You can't force someone to do something with their body, the argument whether the fetus is alive or not is irrelevant in the discussion. You can't force someone to breast feed either, and in that case the baby is already fully alive.

Also your little meme is hilarious because that's exactly the sort of situation pro-choice people are trying to avoid. Because they will probably end up in foster care because the political party that fights the right to have an abortion is the same one that cuts funding for all the programs that would allow a mother to keep a baby she didn't want for financial reasons.

Also, are you all going to start banning capitol punishment now? If an unborn child has a right to life . . .

Are there going to be be extensive plans in place to assist mother and child for support? Is it going to be made easier for people who can't have kids to adopt? Is there going to be legislation and laws made to govern/prevent having sex if you're not ready (mentally, physically, financially) to support a child? Who gets to make those calls?

I'm not saying I agree with abortion or that I don't agree, I just think there needs to be a lot of other things in place before just saying "ban abortions". It doesn't solve the unwanted pregnancy problem, and it will create a lot more problems than it fixes. Who gets the child if the mother goes to jail for an attempted abortion? If she leaves the state/country to get one, she can never come back, or will there be extradition?

Also feel like forcing a woman to carry a child due to rape is like punishing the woman even more. . .Are rapists considered to do god's work?

If that was the case, those women wouldn't have been able to end up pregnant in the first place. Have no fear, they'll still be able to be irresponsible while demanding that society pays for their lack of responsibility. And then still cry about how oppressed they are.
