I finished "Leviathan Wakes," the first book of The Expanse. It changes a lot of the details around (a lot), but it's still largely telling the same story. It took me a while to get through it, but I like listening to audiobooks at a leisurely pace, generally while I'm at work and I don't have a podcast to listen to at the moment.

Replace baseball with soccer and it's basically myself.

My team won the Brazilian championship in '15 and '17 after 20 years of waiting and I didn't watch a single game. Couldn't bring myself to care.

Persona Q2 beated. Fun game, definitely preferred it to Q1. A lot of that has to do with how they toned down/simplified/dumbed down much of the Etrian Odyssey elements. The core gameplay is still the same as Q1 but the puzzles and labyrinths are extremely simple and there's a bunch of quality of life upgrades like being able to initiate an All-Out Attack when you knock everyone down instead of needing to have a certain number of boosts active at the end of the turn.

Links and Binds are so OP though lol.

Characters are still fun as always. Elizabeth might be the lowkey MVP lmao she's the best and her JPN VA somehow makes her antics even better much of the time. Theo great as always as well: "Perhaps it's just my imagination, but I daresay even the popcorn machine is trembling in anticipation!" never change theo.Bonus Boss lead-in is also the best thing ever lmao. Elizabeth frames the party for stealing Caroline's hot-dogs - who in turn steals Justine's hot-dogs. The Velvet Room sends the party a calling card for their "grand hot dog larceny" and Elizabeth makes them form the Velvet Rangers. Velvet Navy! Velvet Sapphire! Velvet Cobalt! Velvet Indigo! Velvet Blue! it has to be seen to be believed.

P3 FeMC is a constant joy, and the OC Hikari becomes pretty great herself by the end. Unfortunately it doesn't feel like the game/story really picks up until you finally get everyone which takes like... half the game to do. Ending is good too.

Now I should probably start CS2... which will definitely take me past Three Houses releasing. argh but i still have my paused PoE2 playthrough. too many games with cs3 looming in the distance.

Good job on making the fight against McBurn actually really challenging and intense. I was worried that they wouldn't be able to make him live up to his reputation after I shredded Xeno and Leo in a single combo round, but they pulled it off.

Pretty sure Kondo has gone on the record as saying that Liberl was inspired by Thailand, Crossbell by Hong Kong, and Erebonia by Germany (Erebonia isn't exactly subtle what with "Blood and Iron Chancellor")

The Epilogue is important/good for showing how Rean has dealt with the aftermath of the Infernal Castle, IMO. It's a good tease of how his character will be going forward... unless CS3 just swerves away from it I guess.

Also it has one of the better scenes in the game IMO.

Zero no Kiseki chapter 3 beated

Over on the Falcom subreddit I've seen a few people cite this as one of the best Trails chapters in the entireseries, but I don't really agree? Still pretty good and it's definitely had the best scenes in the game so far, but something about the overall flow of the chapter felt off. Like there was some stuff that felt like unnecessary bloating, and I also felt it suffered a bit from trying to jam together too many plotlines in a way that didn't always flow naturally. Not a big problem at the end of the day though, and I still cried when Renne fought off the wolves in that one scene so whatever.

I hope we get to see some real substantive conflict between Erebonia and Calvard, whether that's in Ao or the future Cold Steel games or the Calvard arc or whatever. This maneuvering behind the scenes is interesting also but the powder keg has to ignite eventually. Also Lechter was amazingly fun in this chapter. Easily my favorite stuff in the series for his character so far
