Video games (and other media) are in a tough spot when it comes to this. If they don't change, the fans will buy it, but the dominant coverage of the game by journalists will be "out of touch devs this, offensive/problematic that". If they do change it, journalists finally start talking about the actual game, but the people who complained won't buy it because they weren't interested in the first place and the fans won't buy it because they feel the game is now compromised.

What can you do?

I don't know why any fan would be upset at these changes though. They're minor changes made to dialogue to make the characters less insensitive when talking to others. In our culture and language they'd look like assholes if it remained the same and I doubt that is the developers intention. Stuff like this is going to inevitably change between regions. As far as I can tell the biggest thing that will likely be changed is how pronouns are used. I don't think anything in the plot will change and I doubt anything will be removed. When it comes to changes between regions it's incredibly minor.

The only people who should be upset are purists who want games to be exactly the same as originally intended. But Catherine Full Body is already an alteration to the original story. So the purist argument doesn't really matter either. When talking solely about the original game the only potential change is in the credits.

Hell if the spoilers in this game do carry over this will be the only game I'm aware of where you can actually romance a transgendered character.

I think this is a game that has fallen victim to clickbait scandals that has attracted both sides of outrage.
