Chris Pratt has been rumored to take over the role of Indiana Jones in an upcoming reboot of the franchise, but Harrison Ford set the record straight.

Nobody is gonna be Indiana Jones! Dont you get it? Im Indiana Jones. When Im gone, hes gone. Its easy, Ford, 78, said on the Today show Friday.

This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this. Im sorry, man, The Secret Life of Pets 2 star said laughing, jokingly mistaking Pratt for Chris Pine.

Good. Ford is right. I'm sick of people trying to become something better than is possible.

The movie that made $393 million world box office and $55 million domestic video sales? Yeah, that one.

LMAO, dude what are you trying to say. Tons of shitty movies make money. Sales =/= general reception. That's a really poor indicator.

Besides, that's a really small number for a star wars film. Even Rogue one, another spin off, made 3 times as much.

Solo was literally the poorest preforming SW film. I fucking hate Attack of the Clones and The Last Jedi, but even I can't say those were less successful than Solo.

But if you really want to talk sales and commercial success then how much was the movies budget and marketing?

Guys.

It's hilarious to think that Disney of all companies will just give up on Indiana Jones after Harrison Ford dies.

It might take decades after he's gone but it will happen. It's Disney. Anything that has been popular in the last 80 years they own will live as long as modern human civilization.

We got a fucking new Mary Poppins movie a few months ago.

I mean, technically he was playing himself.

Same how no one will be able to be Will Smith from Fresh Prince of Bel Air, because it is just Will Smith playing himself in a role designed to be him with some fictional backstory and events.

You can put an actor in the role, but they will never come close to the magic that he brought the role.

Thinks of it like Terminator.
There has been quite a few other Terminators that were not Arnold.
Do you remember any of them aside from "Arnold shoots this guy" (aside from T-1000 who is mostly memorable because of the computer graphics not the acting)

$250 million.

It was the lowest performing Star Wars movie, but it still made money. And an Indiana Jones reboot would make even more money.

Solo would have made more money if Episode 8 had been better-received. It didn't lose any viewers on its own merits.

That's just the budget my guy.
Movie didn't even break even. Needed at least 500mil to not be considered a loss or failure. It will be forgotten. Even Disney is trying to forget about it.

Try and attribute the blame to 8 all you want, but it was an average movie regardless. Having shitty films precede it only makes so much of an impact. No other stars wars film has fallen so short following the release of another. Even RotS did alright after the shit show that was AotC.

You can attribute it to simply being a movie nobody asked for. There is little care for.

And I fully expect for this to be reverberated with a Indiana Jones reboot. Can someone else play indy? Yeah. A reboot is not out of the question, but whatever they do it will pale in comparison to the originals. Time will not treat it as kindly and much like Solo it will be forgotten and if it is remembered it will only be for being average and failing to live up to its name.

I've always feels that Indy is more than Ford. He's a character that should be like James Bond. He deserves to be used more than he is. There are is many amazing stories they could tell wirh Indy but Ford wants to keep it all to himself .
