There's gigantic uncontrollable fires because that's what summer is now like here, all the smoke is blowing on down

The one High Level fire is over 2300 square kilometres

In comparison the 2016 Fort McMurray fire was around 5800 sq kilometres

So it's almost half that size and still a young fire, all that smoke blowing down, feeling very sick

I'm in southern Alberta and it's also pretty smoky here. I didn't believe it when I heard the smoke was from the High Level fire in the far north.

Utah is closer to us than High Level.

Canada and California should have their fires fight one another. We could call it something cool like Fire Fighters.

It's a lot better now, but still not perfect.

I went to the gym after work yesterday, and the smoke had crept it's way into the gym. Not the most enjoyable workout.

oof, i was there during the fort mac fires and i don't remember it being anywhere near that bad. of course that was in central alberta

I was further north up in Cold Lake during the Fort Mac fires. This one escalated more quickly. It was pretty nasty. Today is mostly fine

Also every time I use my vacation days, it gets smoky in Alberta.

This year, the day after I left
Last year, once BfA came out, I was off that week, but stayed home.
The year before, while I was in Europe it started to smoke over.

Had a guy in Amsterdam tell me they needed rain, it was getting dry. I was like dude, where I come from is much worse then here (it literally rained two days before this there) I am pretty sure Northern Alberta hasnt seen precipitation for about month.

Had my windows open last night for cool air. Woke up to smoky smelling apartment. Gross. Doesn't look bad but it's smelling like camp fires

If the smoke rolls in over here I'll be wearing one. Hopefully I can get one from work for free that'll filter the smoke out. So far it's only in Alberta.

I think most things are closer than High Level. Unless you're in it.

Yuck. Been there last year. A fire in our own neighborhood, in our yard. It wasnt the BIG one here in California though. Couldnt go to the store to buy masks and couldnt find ours so I used one of my dads old t-shirts.

Definitely a lot better. Had smelled the smoke the other day but it has been cool and drizzling for the last bit. I'm in BC now, not smoky here
