I just want to say that this side of the bracket has shaped up better than expected. Four of my top 5 of this second half of C made it this far, and they're all very high up there overall for me too. It's a shame that two of them have to bow out now on promising runs before retirement.

Anyway

Torna Battle seems near unstoppable to me both personally and in actuality, but Studiopolis gave me pause. Quite literally even, as it was a general premonition that I would be in a mood for it that made me not vote right off the bat. Ultimately, it still gets barely edged out, but considering it's up against something that's easily been in my top 10 since the start of the contest and has grown on me since, that's nothing against it.

Latter match, slightly more straightforward. In that top 5 I alluded to before, Kill Command would (normally) be my #3 in this corner and Flash Frost #5. Pac Twin Attack my #2 (though today it might be studiopolis by the narrowest of margins). Kind of a testament to the quality of today that a song like Flash Frost is what I would consider the weakest because it's still something I like a lot, and probably more than I did last year even. Bracket C is still busted yo. This isn't even the half of it that I considered stacked and it's still loaded as heck here.

Studiopolis is very hard to spell. This does not make Act 1 a bad track; it's just an observation. The song is groovy and a very good time. Battle!! is rousing and full of life. Tough match, both very good songs. I lean toward Studiopolis because Battle!! goes on too long without much variation, but I'd be fine with either song winning.

Speaking of little variation, Kill Command is epic bubbles but the bubbles are popping oh no. Flash Frost is my least favorite song remaining. Bubbles > bobbles. Bubble Man bobbles in Afghanistan.

Match 1:

Closer match than I would've expected, but the winner is still clear. Studiopolis is solid and catchy (the real retiree here should be Rhuzerv but w/e), while Battle!! is well-composed (it has a mix of Murasaki, Touhou, jazz and maybe Umineko at some parts), but it lacks something and it just doesn't convince me enough to give it the edge over Studiopolis. It kind of makes me miss the days where there were actually really powerful Umineko, Touhou, and of course Xenoblade songs competing that are miles better than the one we have here.

Match 2:

I consider Kill Command more an anti-hero than a villain, because of its characteristics. A "villain" for me is a song that I consider overrated or that I think shouldn't advance more than certain rounds; an "anti-hero" is a song like this one (and the DMC5 one as well), in the sense that it's great or even amazing, but I hate its game's premise or dark lyrics. I'll always have a personal conflict with one of the best songs in VGMC history, DORCHADAS, due to its evil lyrics.

In this particular match, though, Kill Command is definitely the villain, not because it's overrated or anything but because it could probably become that if it wins here; but most importantly, because of who it is facing right now. Not only Flash Frost is an upbeat, well-crafted and charming song; Flash Frost's time to retire is now. This is the match I'm most nervous now, and maybe the last I actually care about in terms of having a song I totally root for. Like, if (when) Servants meets Crabulon, I'll be so utterly amused by the Brawl/Melee magnitude of the match that I won't even care much who wins, even if I already have my vote decided.

That being said, Danganronpa is now using a Dark-type move called Kill Command; let's see how Atelier's Fairy-type move called Flash Frost does in here...

MATCH 1

Battle!! #8 vs. Studiopolis Zone Act 1 #21. Studiopolis might be under-ranked. These are both actually pretty good songs, despite the big difference in rank. I think the only point where I can truly say that I don't care about the song at all is around #30, so most of the songs left are songs that I at least like somewhat. Anyway, Battle was one of my supports so even though it beat Knight of a Foreign Country last round, which I like more, I'm happy to see that Battle has a chance to retire here.

MATCH 2

Flast Frost #5 vs. Kill Command #22. Flash Frost is definitely my favorite song left in Bracket C, so I'm strongly hoping for it to win the bracket at this point. I think it has a chance, honestly. I feel like if Flash Frost wins, then Flash Frost vs. Battle!! would be the biggest trouble for it going forward, but who knows. That might just be my own bias of liking both of those songs a lot taking control haha.
