I think the only game I ever preordered more than a month in advance was Halo 3, and that was because of limited quantities in my local area and once they hit a certain number, they cut them off.

Imagine not being able to play a game you want when its released. Thats why I preorder games, most of the time. You pay the same price (the pre order fee is subtracted from the titles price) and sometimes you get bonuses.
