Board 8 > Saw the credits roll for Dragon Quest XI (Spoilers for the entire game)

Finally got around to playing it and um... holy shit this game is really great. Like I felt a game hasn't understood the connective tissue between people this well since Dragon Quest V. The emotional moments are just so impactful and land on you so hard because they build up the relationships and the game just gets it.

Veronica's death really hit me because she was so sassy and then was like "hold my beer" so when we got to do the remix and we were able to win the day I pretty much just marked the fuck out and was super hyped. I am not to the dark one yet but the post game has just been absolutely enthralling and clearly a love letter to fans of the series.

Still sorting out a ranking, but it is high up there for sure.

Glad I finally was able to sit down and play it.

I think they mean that you just played the inferior version of it (PS4) since the Switch port is launching with a host of new and improved content and QoL changes.
Not that XI isn't already a complete package.

XI is definitely in my top three DQs. It just does everything so well.

I'm playing DQXI now too, I don't really care about the Switch upgrades and I might even buy it again on the Switch at some point.

Haha playable pixel mode. I love it. Yeah I will grab the switch version too. My gf would probably get a kick out of that since she loved playing with me.

I never got around to fighting the actual real final boss, the latter half of the story was pretty disappointing to me. Liked the game overall but it went from looking like it would be one of my favourites in the first half to merely being pretty good by the end
